The last word was that the LE version & the production version should be available the middle to the end of next month. A second run is in the works & is tentatively due out in February. Keep in mind that there are a LOT of logistics to make this all happen so things are subject to change.

I'm really looking forward to this knife!:thumbup:
 
Man, I've been hitting my email like a crack-fiend looking to score. Its like I ordered something and am checking my porch and the UPS tracking number or something.

I've not been this excited about a cool new toy since I built my first AR - I needs a HEST-folder badly (or at least some more pics)! :D

I hope you read this Ryp and DpxGear, if you need to change anything it needs to be the graphics on the MR DP blade, MR DP's shades need to be black not grey unless of course he has bought a new pair.
 
I have joined the masses of people waiting for this knife. Ordered mine through knifecenter the other night. Could not decide between this knife and the new 0551 from ZT. Both look like awesome knives and I know both will be of fantastic quality, but only one had a bottle opener:D

Looking forward to this one coming out soon:thumbup:

this knife is perfect........minus the wierd u shaped divot in the blade. please dont tell me its a bottle opener.

Yeah, but it isn't "U" shaped.
Is the "U" shaped indent down on the edge at the hilt supposed to be a wirebreaker still? It looks too shallow for that, but a little deep to be just a sharpening choil. Is it there just for identity with the fixed HEST?

I've read that the D2 steel isn't really optimal for being torqued around and breaking wires...I figured that little notch is there to accomodate the pin near the pivot when the knife if closed, or like you said a sharpening choil (which I never got what the point of a sharpening choil is..)

Bottle opener, pot lifter, place to lash the knife to a spear... The idea is that it can be used for a lot of different things. In some way this is a knife that can be a multi-tool. If you notice the hexagonal hole where one would normally put a lanyard is perfectly sized for bits.

Anything anybody has used the fixed blade HEST knife for is pretty fair game with the folder version. They are identical in design. The rotoblock helps with that fixed blade oriented ability as well.

For me, it helps to get the edge sharp all the way back to ... well, the end of the edge. I'm kinda OCD about that, and I HATE to see a knife that has been used and sharpened a lot, with no choil, that starts to look like a bastardized recurve, or some kinda filet knife. But like I said, that's just me, and I'm OCD. :D
 
In fact, mr.dp will be removed from regular production version handle as well.

Count me as another person that thinks this is great news. This was the one sticking point before placing my preorder w/KW when it was first offered a while back.
 
I actually like the "Mr. DP" skull. Doesn't bother me at all.

Besides, it on the handle, which your hand will cover if you're worried anyone will be scared or offended by it.

Depends on what setting you're in, I guess.
 
Like many others said before me: What a great looking knife. :D Really looking forward for some reviews and videos.

Personally I`m gonna go with the Izula folder when it comes out. I like my blades small when I EDC. And my H.E.S.T as my H.E.S.T knife. :P
