Hey ! Frontsite/hideaway ????

In that case, best wishes to Frontsight. Glad to hear some one is taking the reins, but I'm shelving my buying plans until everything settles down. By the time things are running again, that jug of change I have with the crudely drawn HAK on the label should have enough for some extra accessories. They still have my business and then some, just giving it more time.

WILLIAM is on top of things....I see a turn around

I got a Reply and it all will be worked out.

I talked with a few friends and they have had no problems since the william hak take over and I have had all problems solved ! WILLIAM is really doing a great job at HAK...IMO:D

I have spoken with the owner of HAK in the past. She's a really nice person, smart as heck, and the secrecy has nothing to do with bad business practices. It's a personal issue that is quite necessary. I don't think she anticipated the demand. I hope William has everything going well and wish them both the best.

Hope things turn out. I ordered a in-stock claw at the end of last month and within ten days I had it. Good luck!

You kidding? Approximately fourteen Harry Potter chapters ago according to my geeky girlfriend, I heard some one say 'William'. Now 'WILLIAM' is zipping away to the fortress of solitude. That's service.

I've been checking 'Available Now' for months...Most I've gotten is two or three hits in my size, then nothing. Just checked on a whim...Ten knives in my size...Big name designers...Amazing blade coatings I've never seen before...'Talonite' option at the top for a straight grand...

...Are there...actual 'Knife Gods', and if so, what type of sacrifice do they require?

Don't let the topic bump fool you, HAK is back on the map full force!

I wish I was having the luck you guys are.

My knife has been in "all received for final QC status" since early may.

I started trying to contact for information on some accessories. Then when I got no reply after several emails I started asking around but couldn't find out anything on this mysterious company. I have been paid in full since about May 5th and have not received anything. No product, no email, no nothing.

I don't mine waiting but when someone drops off the face of the earth with my money in their hand I get worried.

Dealing with HAK has been the worst experience I have ever had with a merchant/ company.

Hopefully this William person will get everything straightened out.

FWIW I´m going to try to convince William to get rid of that stupid dot tracking page

IMHO it just causes too much confusion and extra work

I´ll be in touch with William again when I get back home next week from vacation and pass on any concerns

Now that the company is up and running again, why don't you contact them?

See this post: Hideaway knives under new management for information and email addresses:

Esav, I just sent them an email this morning before joining and posting here. If I hadn't joined this forum I would not have known they were under new ownership. Thanks!

I have my fingers crossed and hope I a get good ROI soon.

Ken, thank you for suggesting improvements to William. I'm sure it will improve current and future customer experience with HAK.

Ken, The other frustration with his webpage I see, they want all contact info just to look at what is available and what it would cost. Can't think of a quicker way to run a person browsing off.

agreed. My old website was set up that way and I didn´t like it. It also had the dot system and I didn´t like that either which is why I had mine updated and completely changed.

I´ll be sure to pass that on to William as well

Guys, just so you know where I stand. I have no ownership in Hideaway knives. I grind knives and get paid a fee for each knife I grind. I used to do all of the kydex sheathing also but haven´t sheathed any in a couple of years.

But I and several others spent a lot of time helping with the company and I would like to see it prosper as long as they are doing what they say.

Rest assured, if conditions go back to the way that they were I´ll pull my support and never grind another knife for them again.

Anybody who needs to contact me about the HAKs can feel free to do so at kbblades at yahoo.com

AMEN BROTHER ! Dump the dot crap !

I am 100% happy all has been made right with my problem !

Just to chime in on the positive side of things: I ordered an in-stock HAK on 8/1 and it was in my hot little hands on 8/3, complete with all the trimmings: bikini sheath with ball chain lanyard, spare paracord, bandaid (hehe), etc. etc.

I got a personal confirmation email from William within 10 minutes of payment that my order was processed, and another the same day with shipping info.

So, in my humble estimation, I think things are well in hand - my experience with them was absolutely outstanding.
