Hey Guys & Gals Dont forget ....

But walking on the glacier with just socks on his feet is borderline nuts!

I have only seen Ep2.

I was surprised to see Cody standing on a glacier in shorts, then they tell us he doesn't wear shoes
He seemed to do quite well moving in the snow wearing socks though.

What really surprised me was seeing them plunge into the stream - that water is snow melt and it is really cold. It made me shiver to watch them get wet and then they mention that there isn't much daylight left - cold and wet in the evening doesn't sound like much fun. I've dived in similar water in the middle of the day in Summer when I was really hot - a 1 minute dip and you are cooled down nicely.

Some interesting stuff though like using the sock to catch an eel and using flax to make cordage. Flax has been used for cordage before of course - the Maori used it a lot. Actually flax must be one of the best plants to use - that stuff is really strong and fibrous, great for many tasks.

Catching the eel was cool - Dave whipped that net up pretty well, too. My favorite part was the simple act of using a magnet to derive a north south line... I expected him to magnetize a needle and making a floating compass or something, but that was just cool.

Every episode has proven to be both entertaining and informative - I keep learning new things.

Les Straub sort of broke down the 4th wall (acting term) during the last season of Survivorman by showing how he crams for an environment beforehand - he gets a 3-4 day crash course by the locals and has TONS of materials to study with pics, diagrams, etc.

What he does is still cool, but it's certainly getting the answers to the test beforehand.

Dave and Cody seem to have some challenges quickly dispatched with, but other times come up with stuff that is plain clever or makes me wonder what they were thinking.

Great show - I hope a director's cut DVD will be available. Dave has already mentioned season 2 on his facebook page.

Another good episode-I thought Cody got a little too emotional about water but it's all good. I see he made some sandals this week-must have read my other post hahaha ;)

I liked this episode as well. I would be completely out of my element in the desert.. Seems like it would not be the place to get lost.

Finally got around to looking for this show on OnDemand. They had two episodes. One on an island of the coast of Canada and one in Belize. It's good to have another survival show to watch.

I'm really liking the show.

Surprised at Cody's performance on last nights episode. He's a total desert rat, I would have expected him to excel in that element. Guess the illness took more out of him than expected.

Dave was awesome as usual. His skill and ingenuity seems to know no bounds.

I agree, Dave really gets it done. I thought this episode, cody would have been the go to guy, as usual however, Dave was the one who made it happen, he got the meat again, started the fire again, filtered the water. Without Dave, Cody would be in trouble!! I really like Daves youtube videos, and I really like all the information Dave makes available. And he does it all for free!

I have watched Dave's videos for a couple years, but I had never really seen a lot from Cody. I am however enjoying the different approaches to situations. I agree that Dave is the go-to kinda guy, but that shelter that Cody made in the first episode was really sweet too. I can't wait for next week!:thumbup:

Yep Cody seemed pretty bad in this one due to the illness. But then again even the small things count and Getting your clothes wet to prevent over heating is sth that shouldn't be overlooked. As small as a contribution is, it's worth gold if it helps out

I really thought that episode cody would have been ontop of it more also but dave is a kickass now ask questions later guy for sure.I wonder why dave hasn't been useing his blindhores knife more, he had it in the first episode but not the rest, cody has had a mora in all of them. cool show

wasn't sure if i should bump this up or pretty much everyone knows about the show. it's the only reason why i'm at home on a friday night instead of somewhere with a fistful of dollar bills :p

Still waiting to see what happens with the Mr. and Mrs. Hawke show. I'd love to see Myke, Cody and Dave all on one show.

I still think Cody is actually a Bigfoot that was raised in captivity.

I'm glad to see them stacking Man, Woman, Wild before Dual Survivor.

Married with kids, so now I actually have something to look forward to on Friday nights ;-)

Shoeless came up again. I get a kick out of Cody eating local foilage while Dave gets a 40 lb pig for supper. haha
