HI Kerambit Design Thread

The handle would be one piece of saatisal wood. I'm not sure if they would be able to make it out of horn. Oh, and the ring would be around 3/8" in diameter....maybe more.

Ok. Time to play catch-up with this thread.

The most preferred design so far is #6. I'm going to change it to a pinned, hidden tang. I think the other ideas pose too much of a problem. Granted, the pommel won't be as strong as it would with a steel ring, but does anybody here actually do any skull-crushing on a regular basis?

Dan

Dan if I were able I would get one of these just for the novelty, but I have to carefully pick and choose my purchases anymore. I really like this design!!!!:D

But if my input counts I would keep this knife with a full chiruwa tang and a partial wood or horn grips, leaving the ring- steel only.
I think a steel ring would be easier to manipulate for anyone wanting to get fancy and twirl this knife on their pinkie due to its thinner profile.
And IMO a wood ring, besides being overly bulky, just wouldn't be strong enough because of the natural grain of the wood.
Horn would probably be a different story, but with the kamis always wanting to "improve" on our designs there's no guarantee that you would always get horn.
Besides, the kamis are steel workers and one always works best in their own genre.:)

And Dan, you know if Yen-sah says a chiruwa tang.... he's serious. ;) From what I've read, he don't like 'em too much. :o Me? I prefer 'em. I have to agree on the steel ring. I may not do much head bashing anymore, but it's nice to know I can. :D I like this one.
