Dawi I think it looks fine. At least the handle can be modified by those who need or want to, that is if it's big enough in the center.
Lots and lots of work there that anyone who has made a model can appreciate.
Like knives, there is no "perfect" model.:)

Not to open a can of worms, but this would be an excellent rig for a "blade only" purchase.:D
Although I guess it would be easy enough to remove the handle and put one on of your own desire.;) :p

I would love that myself, but I don't think the group would agree as a whole.


Now, consider this:

9 times out of 10 - they'll put whatever handle they want anyway
1 time out of 10 - they'll follow the model exactly

Both of these have got me worried...

I was thinking maybe we could get the interested parties who are on the list to comment on what they see and then maybe just take it from there? :(

I was just thinking, because this one is not a khukuri, or anything even remotely approximating a khukuri, I bet this is that one time out of ten where we get a perfectly exact copy, as the kamis probably won't have any idea what in the hell this thing is supposed to be anyway, and so won't know where to begin in making their own improvements.

Maybe we better make sure and get that just-right handle on it before it goes to Nepal. If Dan doesn't want to do it I could try and rough one out if I get a new drawing?

Don't be afraid to yell at me if you think I screwed it up, folks.

Dave, I've spent hours making a handle for a knife, only to wind up using saws and chisels to remove it 'cause I wasn't happy with how it turned out. If you don't think it turned out right, then do what you gotta do. Otherwise, it'll bug you no matter what anybody says.

Dave. Don't`sweat it.

I think that the seax is actuall quite like a khukuri. To prove this take your fave khuk., and lay a piece of notebook paper over the forward part of the blade, so that the edge of the paper is parallel(or slightly obtuse in angle) to the spine. Voila! the seax design is in every khuk. The khuk just has a bit more drop to it.

I have emailed all on you Takers+Runes folks this eve with the totals for the etch, the blade, and the shipping and insurance. And also where to mail the checks. Once I receive all of the checks and they clear, I will write one big check to Uncle for the seaxes. When they come in, they coem my way, I etch them, then send to youse guys.

Uncle, Pen, keep us posted on the progress. Last I heard wood model flew, so I assume that the kamis are all over it.
