Hinderer Skinnys

Afraid not. I’ve always liked the idea of that configuration as well. Don’t see too many XMs with it, though. But it has been done a few times, I think.

Thanks. I have never owned a Hinderer with a working finish blade but do have one with a working finish lock side, see below). Does the working finish on your new blade look the same as on the scale, in terms of the finish and the color?

p.s. seriously debating between stonewash grey g10 and working finish grey g10, of a skinny slicer.

In my experience the working finish blades are slightly lighter in color than the working finish handles, but they are very close.

Looks awesome! So do you have to take extra care on a WF blade so it doesn't get scratched while you're sharpening it on the WE?

I just used a little masking tape around the pivot/handle area to keep grit out. I don’t take any extra care on the WF blades and they haven’t had an issue in the WE for me.

Thank you @Jordan@DLT for making this a reality (and sorry for bombarding you guys with requests for this)! It's even better than I imagined, and will be purchasing a DLC version as well when they drop.

I SERIOUSLY think you should do a 3.5 no choil SHEEPSFOOT SKINNY next. I'd buy two of those as well :):thumbsup:

Yep, Sheepsfoot (choil or now, I could go either way on that) should definitely be the next 3.5" Skinny. No question there.

Hopefully since they did the 3" Skinny in a Sheepsfoot, the same will follow for the 3.5" at some point here soon.

Hoping, hoping. :D

What angle is that? I did 16.5dps on my first skinny, and this one will likely see 15.

This one is just at 19. Didn't want to push it too far because of the tighter plunge grind on the sharpening notch on the no-choil version. It'd definitely flare out a good bit I think if you went beyond 17 or 18. I may eventually lay it back a little more though, we'll see how it performs with this geometry.

That's one thing I didn't like about the choiless versions. At my natural sharpening angle, it would really widen the edge there at the ricasso, due to the gradual thickening.

Yeah, it did better than I expected, though. I was afraid any sharpening at all would really flare it out. At 19 or 18 dps, I think most would look pretty good and still cut well.

If they did a Skinny Sheepsfoot I would probably most definitely buy one of those! I’ve always wanted to try a sheepsfoot, and like how they look as well.

Spoke to the guys at DLT about a skinny no choil sheepsfoot earlier this year and was told anything is possible but definitely not on the agenda for 2019. Would also be in for one.

Love that scale!

ahhhh you hesitate you lose. Was debating between grey stonewhash and grey working finishing. Finally lean toward the stonewash but just to find out it is sold out grey g10 stonewhash is sold out at DLT. Now, OD green scale or orange scale? decision decision ...
