Well this is the first time the Boss has quoted me and since the HOG Badger was made to go with the a Filson.....I essentially have no choice....I must get HOG Badger. Thanks Jerry.
 
Huh, so it doesn't sound like there's been much catching up on lead times since I hung around these parts. That's alright, a little delay on the ding probably wouldn't hurt the ol wallet on this one.

Just cant stop looking at the pics of this thing. Such a great looking knife. I thought the Flak Jack and PR were great looking blades also, but this one might just take the cake for me so far! ;) Might just have to be in for a few!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
 
I can't get this blade offa my mind. I have settled on BIG DC.... I think that is the favorite finish I've found on a Busse.... including satin... I know I'm bucking the majority, but I just love that bead-blasted looking finish. Now I just have to decide between red/black G10 or maroon micarta. This thing is looking like it is just gonna BEG to be used hard in the deer harvesting arena. And I really hope that I'm going to be able to get back out in the woods by next year. So... I'm thinking maroon micarta. Yep... I think that's it. Maroon micarta on BIG DC.

DC is excellent because you can buy a bead blast cabinet for $150 at harbor freight and refinish any time you want easily. A few passes in the cabinet and your knife looks like new.
 
Being a *huge* fan of the SOB in comp. finish, the HOG Badger in BIG DC is a no brainer! ::Oink Oink::

I dig it, I really dig it, but I have a BAE2 and I love it despite blunting the tip by slamming it into the foundation of my former apartment whilst cutting through carpet to alleviate carpet air bubbles amidst a flood/hurricane situation (damn you, Harvey!) Never went back to look at the concrete; probably has a real nice gouge from the INFI-pact. Used it to slash through a ratchet strap that got caught in a boatman's prop (Cajun navy perhaps; things moved fast and I didn't ask) during a rescue as I was the only other guy packing a knife apart from the boatman and I was already in the drink. Said Badger never left my side after that during the following days of flooding. The edge rusted a little, so I sanded a tiny bit with some oil and 800-grit and it cleaned up immediately. Spent about 20 minutes stropping it on a Fallkniven DC3 and the tip returned mostly to normal. That was my first real INFI test, and it blew me away.

Apologies for rambling; I'm living with my in-laws post-floodicane and I've been drinking for a couple hours while cleaning up for some family friends visiting tomorrow.

The takeaway here is, get a Badger. Get a Badger. It's a great all-purpose design that will serve you (and others) well. You can't go wrong here.

It's hand smoothed so darker colors you will actually see more of the color on darker materials, like the OD Green/black or the Red/Black. But if you really like bright they'll definitely stand out more using orange or blue :D
