btw, I'm 5'9, and not massive of stature (though I rate a 3 on the ape scale, with an arm span of 6'...). I'd be unrecognizable at 250lb, holy cow. 160 looks big on me.

I'm 6'2 and large framed so 230-240 is abouts where I should be I'm told. There's a dude here at work that's 6'6" and strong as an ox. He can toss me around like I'm nothing. There was one guy that worked here for maybe a couple months that was 6'9" and he had to duck to go through doorways.

Also does anyone have a bk5/7 sheath they are willing to get rid of?

I have a factory 7 sheath. Trade it to ya for a kydex one. :D

My Raider Bowie arrived yesterday from Doc (AverageIowaGuy) . Excellent looks wise and robust as Hell . It's hard to believe he's so new to the game.

Very cool. Now lets see more of them guns.

Yeah, I'm like six pounds over, been that way for years. I can eat 5000 calories a day for a month and I don't gain anything, now I'm trying to get down to 6% body fat, and it's taking forever. If I eat so much as a bagel I shoot up a bunch.

don't worry, Kid, when you hit 23 those 5000 calories will go straight to your thighs.

An excess of carbs make your body create fat (and 'excess' isn't all that much). Trying to hit specific targets while you're young and your body is changing is an iffy business.

Yeah, I really wouldn't worry about it for a few years.

Yeah I'm 16, 6'4" and weigh about 275, needless to say I'm always going to be a big guy

Get a hard hat. I'm 6'2" and I hit my head on every damn thing.

I remember when I asked my dad for his old uniforms to use as a Halloween costum when I was in 4th or 5th grade and I couldn't even get the. On :o

AIG strikes me as a guy who does his homework before embarking on a project. He's gonna go far

Give'm to me straight out of the field, wash or beat the dirt off them and I can eat them til I'm stuffed like a tick.

Right on! My favorite memories of gardening involve eating carrots and peas and lettuce and berries and melons and so forth straight out of the ground/off the vine when I was a little kid. Mom used to grow those seedless watermelons and canteloupes (Dad called 'em "mushmelons") a little bigger than a softball... just cut 'em off the vine, chop 'em in half and eat 'em with a spoon, no refrigeration needed. Yum!

I can stomach lightly sauteed or stir-fried veggies, but generally speaking, the closer to raw, the better. You'd have to ask a professional what the exact cut off point is, but once they reach a certain temperature you're losing most of the nutrients anyway.

Speaking of watermelon, when we were in ATL we had lunch at Pappadeaux (because that's just mandatory) and Angie had a watermelon lemonade that was astoundingly delicious. She saw it on the menu and we both went, "Ermagerd!!! That sounds AWESOME! Why didn't we think of that?!?"

Thanks for reminding me, ww... gonna have to get a couple melons and lemons this weekend and try our hand at making that ourselves :)

Dubz - The cabin sounds a bit promising. Looking forward to see how it goes.
Thanks man, we're pretty stoked.

Best part about it Warrior, is that it is yours. You own it... you can see fit to do whatever you want to with it. 2.63 acres ain't small. Spend a bit of time clearing / digging/ moving dirt and you can make it yours.

A buddy of mine got a small place up north and started working on it 5 years ago. He now has a fully "off grid" cabin. Solar and windmill for electric, he drilled a well for water, and every year he gets a natural company to fill up his 2000 gallon tank. He said the only hard part was footing the bill for everything up front, but now he has no bills to run the place.
Cool. I don't think there's much that really needs done, but I'll see once we get there.

Dubz, always wanted a secluded no frills cabin, hope it works out for you.
Thanks man. Same here, have always wanted one, and have talked about it pretty much my whole adult life.

Watermelon lemonade sounds delicious.

Here is my garden currently... :D I know it just looks like a bunch of trees but dammit them my trees LMAO

Lots of sand though. Im going to have to haul in some good top soil for gardening. Lots of stuff for me to chop down too. Its pretty thick throughout the property.

Don't buy packaged/premixed "topsoil", you're paying for about 30-50% sand. That stuff is for folks who just want to landscape a few flower beds.

Just clear your spot and find you a local guy who will truck in a couple tons of composted cow manure. Lots of sand already there isn't a bad thing... till it all together and it will have lots of nutrients and the sand will help keep it from getting too soggy.

Badass bowie, Murph.

Thanks sir!

BTW, this is a shockingly decent beer from a brand that mostly produces typical american crap lager: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/213/98707/
Having one now. And the brewer who formulated it is a local (to me), and seems like a decent fellow. Sure looks the part...

Oh, you guys will get a kick out of this: for YEARS, Yuengling has been unavailable in CT and RI. Well yesterday a friend at work spotted a plane towing a sign that said it's now available in Rhode Island. How's THAT for an announcement? I'd be more excited if I liked lagers.

Yeah, one day it'll make it's way here.

Hey murph, is that Thompson a repro or original?

Also does anyone have a bk5/7 sheath they are willing to get rid of?

Definitely not an original. I bought it new back in 05 or 06.

Wilmette was where I was supposed to pick it up. I bailed.

Ahhh the north side, filled with very rich people who think they're better than everyone else

What kind of boat? Sorry if you said it, I skimmed through the last few pages.

Dude definitely does the book work before hitting the grinder.

I've been looking I to getting one of the new BAR replicas but I don't have $4000 to spend on a gun

I also really want an M1A socom 16, don't know why but they call to me

Totally. I got a .308 Saiga a while back and converted it to a standard AK config with ace sidefolder to hold me over.

Oh HELL yes! That's way easier/faster than what I was thinking of... drink it just like that or strain out the pulp to get pure juice to add to lemonade or whatever... thanks for sharing that, man!

I think have a Green Camillus you can have. Actually, I have a Green one and Black (KA-BAR) one. I'll have to confirm it though (I'm not home at the moment). I got them from Jonny 1280 and his bro BL a few months back. I'll never use them.

Upgrade to Basic so you can PM me a reminder to check it. :D

Mornin! Gearing up to head out to the military vehicle show.
Today could be tough. Next door is a giant gun & knife show. Between Jeep parts, firearms & knives I am going to have to be careful not to bankrupt myself.

This is my most recent sheath. Just got the dye and Sno-Seal in.

I'm most fascinated by the fact that you can get Sno-Seal in Hawaii. :D
Seriously, though, that's good looking work. reminds me of a leather sheath design that needs to be executed shortly.

Credible cup of coffee from the single-serving French press this morning. Getting the hang of that thing, maybe.

Cooked or fresh out the field, i love me some veggies either way.

I prefer them NOT refrigerated though. Same with fruit. I much prefer it at room temp. Lots of fruits and veggies taste WAY better that way.

I know lots of people who like there watermelon straight out the fridge or freezer but IMO that almost ruins it. I sit mine in the sun for a couple hours before cutting it open. Plus i read they are more nutritious when warm.... But really i just think they taste sweeter.

You ain't really from Florida, are ya? Watermelon go in a cooler of ice, sometimes filled with water so they are ice cold.

As far as taste, ever since the seedless ones appeared, the taste went down. They taste kind of bland. The grocery store ones are picked them too soon, which also ruins the taste. Roadside stand or your own home grown are the best.
