"I think you boys have had enough!"

My personal motto has always been, "Too much is never enough."

That's terrible advice, of course... don't do that. Seriously, don't do that with anything, you will probably die in a horrible way. And afterwards, your family/friends will say "Geez, what a moron... he should have quit while he was ahead."

In other news... glamping!

Bearded - If you and the kid need something to do this weekend head down to the expo center. The Military Vehicle Preservation Association is having their national convention there this year.

Here's a pic that my dad sent me while they were setting up earlier this week. These were just the early arrivals. It'll be packed with old trucks, Jeeps, half-tracks, tanks, you name it.... I know they are planning an old vehicle rodeo and other events for Saturday.

Here's a pic sent to me form when the local guys took over 4th street in Louisville earlier this week.

Damn, I wanna go... :(

That reminded me about a story my dad told me a while back from his day in the Marine Corps. It was his first time in a gamma goat, they were driving on the beach, he was riding shotgun, and he didn't really know anything about them or that they could swim. Knowing this, the driver jerked the wheel and drove straight into the water and freaked my dad out pretty good.

Hell yes. Get out and enjoy that snow. The coldest out that I've been in a tent was 23°. Nothing nail biting, but chili. We were prepared for it though, so it wasn't that bad. I was watching a video on youTube, and it was in the 30's, and 76° inside the tent with a little Ti stove, haha. That's awesome. My cousin wants to go out somewhere, and build a small wigwam, and hang out in it in the winter. Sounds like a plan to me.

I used to camp out a lot in winter. Loved it. For quite a few years, some of my friends and I would camp out during the last week of December and celebrate the New Year. I used a North Face down mummy bag and was never cold while in it. Crawling out of the mummy bag in the morning beats coffee for waking up.:D

Yep. It's over for you then. We bought another boat yesterday.

What'd ya get?

Haha - That's hilarious!

I could just see someone sitting there in the passenger seat yelling, "Don't spring that **** on me!" :D

Sounds like somebody we know.

I'd like to bring that rig to the gathering.

That's what I'm sayin'... definitely raise some eyebrows :p

As silly as that stuff seems to us now, it's really not that far off the mark compared to what certain generals in certain wars had on their campaigns over the last few centuries.

Imagine bein' one of the poor grunts who had to carry all that stuff and set it up... and still sleep out in the mud. I imagine that would have irritated a person to a certain degree...

I would only do this if it included the staff to fan the mosquitoes away while I slept and to bring me coffee in the morning....

In other, other news, I sent you an e-mail yesterday...hope you received it.

Dropped some coin on momma yesterday.

Going to Chicago tomorrow to pick up my boat. Dropped some coin on my ass too....:D

Thanks Dubz. We took the plunge and got a couple of serious expedition boats. What the hell, you can't take it with you. :D

Hell yes man, I don't blame you. Not sure if you saw my earlier post, but I may be purchasing a small cabin in the hills of Missouri. Found a hell of a good deal. 2.63 acres, with a primitive cabin, i.e., no electric, or water. 2.63 acres don't really mean anything though, since it's on a hillside, haha. I go talk to my old boss on Monday about getting my old job back too. Don't want to work there, but some money is much better than no money.

Wow. A cabin in the Missouri woods sounds like a little piece of heaven. Congrats brother.

Thanks man. We're hoping to go Sunday to look at it. Very small. Has a sleeping loft, small kitchen with no stove, haha, fireplace, bathroom, wood box outside, with an outbuilding. There's a water collection tank outside, that gets filled with rain water run off from the roof. I think you have to pour water in the shitter to flush it. :D No electric, but the electric is right there, just not ran to it. Shouldn't be much to get it hooked up. I think it's $900 to get it ran 90 ft, and it's not even close to being 90 ft.

Nice yak, Trade. You looking to tackle some bigger water or just longer trips?

Both. We wanted to go unsupported for two weeks and these will let us do that easily. Working on a couple of biggies that I hope pan out. Her boat is a kevlar Valley Aquanaut and mine is a slightly higher volume Argonaut. Those limeys can make a kayak, they are tanks.
