That sucks. I wish there was more work out there. Thinking about talking to my father in law. He knows lotsa people.
I know that feeling. Even though not mainstream perhaps, my son was a paintball fanatic. He played semi pro speed ball. I'm still a few thousand in debt over that. He has 4 markers that were around $1,000 each. Wish that were a typo. Paint, at least at the time, was $60 per case of 2,000 rounds. He would go through 2 cases at a tournament. Plus the gas there and back, food, etc. Sure adds up quick.
Hope you find work soon brother. Hope I do too...
hang in their m00ses and other suches...
my dad had a simple thing going on: if you want it bad enough, work for it. work hard. make money. get out there. if you're showing good hustle, he'd do what he could to help out., which sometimes meant working continuous double shifts for a while, to do the deal. we appreciated it, and worked all the harder outselves, so we could have him around more - bought my first computer that way, $100 short, so he pitched in, and quietly kept his mouth shut on my wasting my time on a toy

good on ya guys and gals that do what it takes to help out the kids.
which also reminds me: i have a lot of stuff, some of it valuable, some of it not, but i should consolidate, yet again. esp *BOOKS* that i don't need. read and give away. too many references (must keep!), lots and lots of fluff. many other things are just usables and supplies. they'll get used and gone. don't need to hoard soap for instance, but throwing it out it nuts. oh well

in other news, i used my trash picked fishing pole and caught some fish the other day. pretty radical. all blue gills. pretty boring really. i think it's time to hit some yard sales and find a less ghetto pole for $5, and move the reel over. maybe. or just not get into it. i *KNOW* i can catch fish, i just don't need to.
