Just received this Paisano today, made by Horsewright and purchased right here on the exchange. I have been eyeing one of Dave’s knives for a while now and now that I have it in hand I am so glad I purchased one. I own a lot of fixed blades and I can say the craftmanship and character of this blade is next level. It is a beauty. Not too big either - showing that it was made by a person who actually uses knives and knows what size to make them. Knowing that it is as authentic as they come just makes it extra special. Everyone should try one of these knives.

Nice knives Dave!! Is that first one called a "Greenhorn"??:D

Now thats funny! Right close by us here too we have the Greenhorn mountains, go figure. Fixed that double pic too. Got some interesting sheephorn I'm working with on a batch currently. several sets of black striations. Be interesting to see how it finishes out. Reminds me of Barbados goat horn that I use to be able to get 15-20 years ago.

Loving this one Onebigbill. Is that knife in current production?
Checked the website and I don't think it is in production anymore. My experience with this maker was less than satisfactory but in the end I got my money refunded and I kept to keep the knife too. I decided to invest some $$$ into it and have it reconstructed to fix the F&F and to fix the very poor blade grind. As received, the knife was very robust but the gaps in the liners and spring were unacceptable and the blade was very poorly centered.

Its a shame they don’t make them to a better standard. I had a chance to poke around the Old Sheffield Shop in Sheffield a year or two back and got a couple of goodies to take home. It was interesting to realise how much the fit and finish and the action influenced my knife choice - given they play zero part in my knife purchasing online.

Anyway horn is my favourite handle material. Keep them coming!
