Mestano sure is a handy knife
Good pics of your Cowboy
Thanks. I really like that model. My next is going to be a Paisano. It should be in Dave's next batch.Good pics of your Cowboy![]()
Great pic Amigo. Good to see that Cowboy getting some use!
Those Ulticlips are great. We use them on our IWB holsters. Great idea on that Slotted sheath.
I'll reach out after Blade Show to get something in the works, Dave (miraculously, last year I came out of the day there under-budget, which I would have never ever thought possible).Yep any 26C3 blades on order and there are several, are in the next batch going to heat treat
Thank you. I did have to find longer screws but it works like a charm for the front pocket. These knives are so great. So happy to have it.Those Ulticlips are great. We use them on our IWB holsters. Great idea on that Slotted sheath.

Liking the new belt stitchingSomething new for us too on the belt front is we've started doing a decorative "gunslinger" stitch. We've been asked about this a lot over the years and thought it was maybe time to why not, so we did.

Speaking of a Cowboy. I was at a cutting event last Saturday and saw this young cowboy with his Horsewright Cowboy in a Slotted sheath:

He showed me the knife it was a Cowboy in AEB-L with cocobolo for the handle. It had quite a bit of wear on it. He said he carries it daily. He pointed out that he had one of our show legal curb straps on his bridle too:

Kinda a funny not really deal. While back I made a friend a belt for his birthday. It was hanging in his closet on a rack with all his other belts. His daughter's dog got in to the closet somehow and ate the tips off of all his belts! With the new one I built him:

I'm finishing off a new batch of knives right now. Will be buffing and polishing them today. There will be some new interesting handle materials and combinations too.
Beautiful! Looks like you were using a fly rod?Took me a while to find these pics:
These are Golden Trout hybrids. Two distinct types here. These first three pics I didn't recognize as hybrid Goldens as I had caught quite a few before but they looked like the last two pics. I contacted Fish and Game with a pic and right away a State Fisheries biologist contacted me and explained that the differences had a lot to do with how much Golden an how much Rainbow was in each. He said a lot of it too, was based on location and how long the two species had to integrate. Interesting stuff. The one Nichole caught is a monster for these guys and like your natives the average is much more like the one I'm holding.

Got those knives all finished yesterday. Really looking good. Sharpening today and starting the sheaths. Might get some roping practice in if the hurricane winds we've had the last couple of days hold off.
