well for my 2 cents I have heard les bear 1911 have to be broken in with a few thousand rounds
Tom is this true sence u have on ecomfermation would be nice that is what the gun shop said to me and ammo is very expencive so I bought a springfield trp operator and it is all match and hand fitted the only thing I don't care for is the sharp g10 handles and the no barrol bushing the berrol is fitted to the slide and u have to tool to take it apart if I had to do it again I would get the one with a berrol bushing
It is an excelent fire arm

And no I don't know how to spell berrol so what

Well, LB's are tight guns, so 4-500 rounds does break them in.

Personally, i find the break-in enjoyable. tight guns are nice!

Thanks for the de-leading input guys, the Lewis Lead remover looks interesting. I guess that's what I get for shooting wadcutters, to bad I just bought another 500 rouinds.

Cabra- You can't go wrong with Les Baer, Nighthawk, Ed Brown, or Wilson Combat. Pretty much comes down to which one you like the looks of. In my opinion, once you get much over the 2k dollar mark though, you might as well just have a custom one built for you.

+1

Again, thanks guys.
I will like to get one custom, problem is that I'm in Europe and if I ask for a custom one they will take like a year or more. I will have to think about it.
I really like the looks of Wilson Combat but the Les Baer has some history that I like. This is something like knives for me....if I like the philosophy of the maker and the product I'll buy it. I like no bullshit products...

I'm looking for something accurate....the swiss make some fine products but I think I'll go made in USA.

In any case, I thank you guys for any comments or advice.

Cabra

Swiss Make damn fine rifles. The Swiss Arms rifle family is well known here...

I know u mean handgun but I'd thought I'll chime my $0.02 ;)

I have both a Baer and a Brown. The Brown is my favorite.

Smaller grip
Higher grip
better dehorn outside, but especially inside
better sights
better magazine

cons:
I like a tighter barrel bushing (so I fit one)
Sight dovetails are cut pretty large, so red loctite was in order.

picked this up on saturday. it's a minty series I(no schwartz safety). best of all, the guy didn't know what he had so I got it for $550!!! now I just have to explain to mama that I "couldn't pass up a sale" :o

KImber something.
It was like 1200 bucks or so
I think you took advantage of that poor soul
and should repent by selling it to me for 650.

and I will be happy

Good Pull Rick!

Was at the pawn shop awhile back and saw a cop sell a Colt Night Guard for $450
