There is no comparison between the M60 and stock Surefire lamp. Thanks for the beamshots and review Guyon.

IMO, the indoor shots don't really do justice to the way the room lit up with the M60, but those tree shots really tell the tale.

That 6Z sits in a Lockbox with a couple of pistols. My Glock has a tac-light on it, but I have a Ruger that requires a hand-held light--thus the 6Z.

After seeing the 200+ lumens though, I now want one for my vehicle. I think I'm going to pick up a 6P somewhere and get another drop-in.

and thus the addiction starts - I'm on the same path Guyon :)

Nice review and pics Guyon -

If you already have a 6P or can get a deal on one, the Malkoff is a no brainer, and durable.

I wonder how the Quark 123x2 (230 lumen) stacks up against the 6P combo in the long run - I have the AAx2 version and it is pretty nice. Not quite as bright as the 123, but for the price - these are good lights.

I carry a Quark 123x2 titanium almost every day, and I also carry a Quark AA and/or my 6P Malkoff. The Quark 123x2 is easier to carry because it is smaller than the 6P.

Guys, what's a good price on a 6P original? I see them going on the 'bay for around $50. In fact, I'm watching a few of those auctions now. $50 +$60 = $110 for a pretty powerful light in a good strong body. That seems like a decent deal.

That is a good deal. I watched a few count down on the 'bay today though. Seemed to be going for about $45 shipped on average. I'll wait till after Xmas when everyone is broke (including me) and try to scoop one even cheaper.

I'm getting a bored Surefire 9P with extension - 12P from Electron guru - two times 18650 and M60 Malkoff.

Hey Guys, rather than read 40 pages of posts, can you all recommend a good flashlight that will not be used for a gun? I have two needs:

1. A big light around the house that can double up as a defense tool.

2. A strong but not massive light to bring outdoors.

I have a Surefire E2L Outdoorsman, and I like it. But I'd like to get another larger light.

I really appreciate any help you flashlight aficionados can give me.

Surefire 6P with Malkoff M60 drop in would probably work for both your needs. Getting blinded by a 230+ lumens and then getting a circle imprinted on your forehead would slow most people down. You can also get a Maglite 6D cell flashlight for home.

I like the suggestions and I will look into those lights Bushcraft. I already have that big 6D maglight, but want something with more lighting power. Thank you.

Any other ideas fellas?
