Chris, my best advice would be to get it “cleared” before sending it in. In other words, speak to someone about getting it
actually fixed, and get it in writing. Print that email out and send it with the knife.
If you don’t do this, you’ll wait another exorbitant amount of time and get the knife back still fubar. Trust me on this one.
They’re stubborn on that “within spec” BS, and will send it right back in the same condition. Not giving a damn about the frustration nor the waste of time and resources.

IMO, you should send this knife lover a perfect specimen, and sort this dud out on your own time. Or face a very high visibility group of people voting with their wallet….
