How many big old lock back fans we got around here?

Old Buck 112 modified by my father many years ago and then passed to me. The point was busted on it and then filed down short. I sent it back to Buck for a fluff and buff with blade replacement. Better than new now. Then had a belt sheath made for it. This will get passed down to one of my sons.

Nice mod on that knife and the sheath goes well with it - very special.:)

Thanks for the kind words and info about the model everyone...one more pic.

Keeping in the Buck 112 frame of mind. Here is a picture of three 2 dot 112's. The top and bottom have been back to Buck for a new blade and spa treatment. The middle one I was able to clean it up myself.

Although I owned a 110 for years, the Gerber Folding Sportsman was my favorite. The trailing point blade was Solingen marked on mine. Foolishly traded it along with a bunch of other nicer folders in the early 80's.

Those old gerbers are sweet, especially with the stag. My dad has the largest model, sportsman 3?, and I learned to clean deer with that when I was younger. Unfortunately the wood scales must have gotten wet and mostly fell apart so he doesn't use it anymore and it just sits in a drawer.

That's the one! It sure is a big guy. I will get around to it, just gotta get the knife from dad and find someone to do the replacement. Wood or now that I've seen yours, stag? Decisions decisions

I'm a fan. Own a 110, 112, and a wooden-handled Gerber lockback, and I'm waiting on the arrival of a double-bladed Boker lockback in stag. The 112 has become one of my most-carried and favored knives, residing in my rear right pocket alongside my wallet. The solid lock and heavy frames lend themselves to heavy work and give a feeling of confidence in the hand, and I like the leather belt sheath that most of them come in for my days off.

If something isn't broke, don't fix it! :)
