how much are YOU willing to spend on a knife? Just curious.

Most I've spent so far was $900 for a Burn stiletto. Most expensive knife I currently own cost $680... Demko custom Navajah. I carry it every day.

I think you probably won't need to pay more than 300 dollars for a custom work knife.
I think you probably won't need to pay more than 1200 dollars for the custom hunting knife you always wanted.
I think the tacti-cool folder you'd like to have probably won't cost more than 950 dollars.
Generally, I think performance doesn't necessarily increase after that.

About max $250.00 a couple of times, usually around 1-150. I have other areas of interest that consume far higher levels of funds.

Not over 200 bucks. I most knives I owned are under 60. I'm just buying knives that I love to use, not cosmetic knives...

Depends on the knife. One could say $300-$400. Then stumble on a deal where a guy needs cash quick and wants to unload a couple of $1700 WH's and will take $750 a piece. I've had it happen. Now your 300-400 just doubled but it was a deal you couldn't pass up.
Hobbies are great that way. If you have the cash and can pull the trigger you can get some great deals on guns, knives, watches, etc..
Bought a brand new pair of Arnie Nudell Genesis 300 speakers that way when the Japanese economy took a crap few years back. $30,000 speakers for $9k

The most I've ever paid was around $700 for a Busse FBMLE, which was worth every penny, IMHO. How much I'm willing to pay depends greatly on how much money I have at any given time. My price range for folders nowadays is around $300 or so, but I'd happily go higher for the right knife.

I collect art as well as knives, and I have to say- knives are CHEAP by comparison.

The most I`ve spent on a single knife this far is $475. Limit? Not sure really, if it`s the right knife I might stretch pretty far..

currently non more than 300usd I think, being a student
in the future I know it will be more, probably rarely over 1k

I spent $1000 on a Lochsa and sold it a few months later along with a few other safe queen customs and bought a Harley. My new deal is no more safe queens. Most of the knives I am interested in now are in the $400 to $700 range for folders and $200 to $400 for fixed.

I am not spending much with the current bad economics, but in better times I see myself spending maybe up to $600 on a user. I would never consider buying a knife that is too expensive to use. Right now my most expensive knife is a Strider SMF.

Anything over $150 had better be able to launch a projectile at a very high rate of speed over substantial distances.
