How much snark could a snarksnark snark if a snarksnark could snark snark?

Looks like I'm gonna sell my Scatty. Hate to, but want the funds for a backpack, plus, I'm almost afraid to use it, because of what it cost. Very rare one off from BHK. One off, in the sense it was custom made for someone. Need to figure out what to ask for it. She's a rare one, hmmm...

hoss, I've never used obenauff's so I can't comment on it, but I've been using Fiebing's Aussie leather conditioner for some years and it's wonderful stuff for leather.

Good to know fellas. I knew it had come up before but I never paid much attention since I don't have any leather handles so I couldn't remember what to look for. I sharpened it and some 440 stainless thing up real nice with for him with my KME diamond kit.

Beezwax!!! You can go to a whole foods type store that sells essentially oils and other stuff and they usually sell blocks of the stuff, a brick (about a pound) will last you forever.

You can warm the leather up with a lighter/hair dryer/etc then just rub it in or shave and melt it and rub it in. Straight beeswax will harden leather (how they used to make leather armor) and when its warm you can form the leather almost like kydex, its pretty neat.

You can also use the raw wax and break it down to make other conditioners/water proofers. I typically warm a sheath up in the oven (very risky high heath will ruin and shrink a sheath badly) then impregnate it with beeswax, then I have made my "skull balms" which are little cubes that have beeswax in them among other things to treat and care for them afterwards.
You can do the same thing with wood/leather handles, just have to get creative with the heat. It just makes the material soak up the wax, helping water resistance. I treat 99% of my gear this way, sheaths(leather and nylon) handles(wood, leather, micarta) boots, bags, belts, gloves, etc etc. Lots of recipes out there on the interwebs, but just a straight block of beezwax is cheaper than most other products with the wax in it. Just an idea.

While deep in a web-based wormhole, I found this:

Personally, I have 0 beef with the design, but the phrase "jimped within an inch of its life" does come to mind...

I read that it was made from an old farrier's file, I assume a hoof rasp of some ilk.

Jonny's all about them brutes, 'bout them brutes, 'bout them brutes.

Now the Colonel can be all about them Brutes too!
2 Brutes are one too many for a mere mortal such as myself...
I hope the Col. gets Brutey wit it!
