Knifehunt,

You are coming off as a real JERK at this moment. Do you even realize what your writing. You agreed to a deal, then half way through you want to back out. Sorry pal you have SCAMMER all over you now. You really are a piece of garbage. Just saying...

( glad you quoted, just so you know how I really feel) ;)

Is someone at the post office researching this for you? As others have said maybe there was just some sort of delay or mix up and the knife will be found and or delivered in the next day or so. This whole thread is based on your contention that you have not, and will not receive the knife. Hopefully the knife will show up and the situation will work itself out.

Really?

In my opinion of what to do is that you should honor your trade agreement. I do not see any of this as the senders fault, you agreed to the trade and you should hold up your end of the deal period. That is the standard I would hold myself to.

I would also hope that I would not find myself in involved in a trade deal with someone who cannot uphold their part of the trade and then starts pointing the finger at the person who honestly followed thru with their part of the deal. Insurance here is a secondary issue at best and seems to be some sort of strawman that is being used to try to assign blame/responsibility away from the OP.

So, in the event the knife does not show up, I should be out and him not? You're crazy......

Rule number 6 from Bladeforums trading rules:

"6.Communication is key, honor your word. If you say you will do something, then do it."

For all anyone knows Knifehunt may even have the knife that was scanned delivered to his mailbox. It certainly is good enough for any merchant online to have proof of delivery, as far having any further responsibility, whether they buy insurance or not. That's all paypal and ebay requires too. Millions of transactions are completed with just proof of delivery. The sellers chooses not to use insurance (they often do) it's only on them to make good if the package is never shown delivered.

If this is the way that you feel, particularly in these circumstances, I would suggest that you not attempt any more trade deals unless you can do them face to face. There are two parties involved in this one who did what he said and is getting shafted and one that has not done what he has said and is blaming the other party...

It really isn't hard to see what the "right" thing is to do... You were in the wrong long before you couldn't figure out where the package was/is.

I had every right to rethink, and change my mind period. I find it hard to believe that anyone would think I should be out, and not him even though he did not insure the package.

I'll bet none of you ever changed your minds before...

Not after agreeing to trade and especially not on the day the knives are to go out. Communication is key, honor your word. If you say you will do something, then do it.

Was insurance discussed in the original deal ?

If not

Than it should not be brought up now

How does the party that did keep there word and sent out there end of the deal know that you are not sitting there with his knife saying it never arrived

You look suspect . I'm sorry, and that seems to be the opinion of most here

You should of sent out the agreed package on the day that was agreed on, the other guy kept his word you should have kept yours

Now you want to offer half its value ?

That is ridiculous...... Insurance should be used weather discussed or not, it's common sense. If the postal service damaged an item during shipping and you did not insure it then you're out of luck, and that's on you. Same concept.

It's coming across KH messed around with this guy and didn't send his knife, now he's happy he didn't because the guy's knife is missing, showing delivered to his mailbox. But he feels it's his fault because he didn't use insurance, which it would have been if the knife was never scanned delivered. Then he would have owed you a knife, oh wait a minute he wouldn't because KH just said he'd trade and then waits until the day agreed to ship on, changes his mind doesn't.

He is a piece of garbage? He would be "a piece of garbage" had he ignored the other trader, and stopped all contact. Instead he comes on the forum to ask peoples opinions on what he should do. To me this says a lot more for his character than someone like you who simply insults somone with no understanding of exactly what transpired.

Loads of sellers don't insure and take responsibility if an item is lost, if it's scanned delivered then lost no they won't take responsibility.

What is the value of a large Sebenza 21? It has been carried about four times per the other party? They sell new for $410 so his is not worth that. At this point it doesn't matter if it shows up or not, I guess I'm screwed.
