I’m a Spyderco owner waiting to happen!

True. I have Police 4 in K390 and it is a great size ( I like larger knives) and the steel so far performs seriously well !
It could be hard to sharpen, I'm using diamonds for it, great edge retention.
It only gets patina, that I'm not so fond about it but it's not so bad as other of the new steels.

I was thinking of the “Stretch 2XL”, which is this one…close to a 4” PM2, besides the lock obviously

Anyone have one of these? It’s been tempting me for a long time, I think I should pick one up soon…it looks like a workhorse
When they were first offered, I figured I didn’t need one because I’ve got a Military in Cruwear. Wasn’t planning on getting one, but I’m glad I did. It’s different than the Military as far as feel/in hand goes. I was not disappointed at all. Yeah, it’s a good work knife.

I generally like Spyderco as a company but they miss me with most designs. Aside from not loving back locks, the combination of finger grooves and spine humps for the Spydie holes usually create awkward ergonomics for me. Another issue is that the hole spacing often means moving my arthritic thumb out at a wider angle than I like for flicking. :( Of course, those are totally subjective issues and sometimes, I can mod around it.

A major exception is the Dragonfly. All of the contours line up just right for me, making it surprisingly comfortable for a small knife in my large hand. Once broken in and properly adjusted, the smaller spacing allows me to thumb-flick it with ease (despite being a back lock). The wire clip is fantastic. The small size and light weight really make it an EDC MVP to the point of one permanently living in a jacket pocket. The blade on the Wharncliffe version has been especially useful for me.

While only VG-10 and FRN, and arguably expensive for what it is, it's totally worth it. It was my only knife on a light carry day today and took care of everything from opening a package to cutting a cigar. Even if you're getting something else here, this is a good one to add and I'm willing to bet you'll find a use for it.

I’m sorely tempted to pick up a Brown Bear PM2 in 15V 😳 Gotta pay a premium for a new one 😬
Update: Thankfully I came to my senses. Here’s my plan. Wait until PM2 number two arrives tomorrow. Check it out. Put it through a few hundred deployments THEN decide if I can justify spending the bucks for yet another tool steel PM2. What’s with me?!?! Is one enough? Are four too many? Lol 😂

Welcome to the forum Screebo! All this Spyderco talk has me wanting to pick up a para 3 of my own. I’ve been wanting the S45VN version for some time.

Thanks, Ruger! I’ve decided to have PM2’s in all their versions! 😇👍. Loving my Maxamet para 3!

Huge Update!
I found a nice, new PM2 Big Brown Bear in 15V and am walking on air! Such a special find and if you think I’ve lost my mind, see what Larrin Thomas says about 15V. Yum Yum! Had to share! I guess Cruwear is next!
excellent pickup. enjoy!

My favorite Spyderco are the para3 and PM2.
other Spydercos that I have enjoyed and that you may also consider:
Yojimbo 2: very good wharny and excellent EDC (but for food prep)
GB2: not a compression lock but my basic work knife, excellent user
Native 5: not has fun to play with due to the nature of the back lock but very strong small knifep
