Mqq....
IDK how about, basically falling into a great buy on a wanted item in a forum that has high integrity in perception and in deed.
Sadly we can't only buy from friends nor folks with many feedback.
Some do not have email turned on,
Some may not list if in the US.

Some transactions through payPal point that the account is out of the country.
Should I go on?

Please don't.

But on the other hand.....
You post "I'll Take It"
Then five guys pm the seller and promise more money.
But then the caveat of "Sell to who I want" "Protect from Crazies"
Comes in.

But check that, the person who sounds perfect is the guy who won't turn you lose.
If at the same time he is out to burn You.

No body ships and refuses a tracking number.....
Why refuse a pic if asked?

Because there were pictures in the thread and you agreed to terms by saying "I'll Take It".

Next time, say something like "I'll take it pending pictures/questions" not an unequivocal statement.

Ya know just promise me a pic of the address on the box and a pic of the post office receipt,
When it's sent.
Would either party find that to be non gratis?

That is a completely different situation.

Solution,
Both parties do everything they can for each other and throw away defensible actions
And tone.

To the OP:

SEND INQUIRIES WITH STIPULATIONS "BEFORE" YOU COMMIT TO TAKING SOMEONES SALE ITEM!!!

FYI:
1. Payment via PayPal Goods will always protect you, the buyer.

FWIW:
2. Any member that commits to a purchase in one of my sales thread, then has the audacity to come back with a stipulation- that member, will be added to my never do business list! Hastily posting to buy in a sales thread (because you think you're going to lose out on a knife), then coming back with your OWN terms, is very poor form, & unprofessional IMO! :thumbdn:

Orrrr... we just keep doing things exactly how they've been working and don't make any weird wonky changes just to appease your sense of entitlement.

Solution to what? Someone wanting to change the agreed upon rules mid-game?

The Exchange works just fine 99% of the time. Live, learn, and move on or keep on whining about a missed deal.

Something tells me we're going to go with option 2 until either we all take a magic mod ride or it gets locked.

The biggest thing in my opinion is a seller can sell to who they want. If the seller felt it wasn't worth their time and wanted to move on that is their choice. Not all buyers always proceed as they should and for sellers it is a hassle.

You had conditions with your "I'll take it." after you posted. The seller chose to move on to someone who didn't.

Also, the payment phase should be the buyer sending payment when they get the payment information from the seller, not "ok I will send payment when you do this or if you do that."

I don't care about any "missed" deal.
There will always be knives.

Majority on the other hand just like to look on the surface and devolve along the lines of
Selfishness on the provocator .....
Faults about the provocator......

jftman,

First off with other buyers lined up I would have done the same thing. . It's the seller's right to change their mind. A deal is not done until both parties were happy and money has changed hands. NEITHER ONE of those happened so you had no deal. Period. Then, from what I gather, you went and posted in the guys thread after the fact?

It's a pocket knife, not a human. I wouldn't have sold you the knife at that point, either. It's not worth the hassle dealing with someone like you. If you are asking for proof of life photos before receiving the knife and after committing to purchase it, who knows what weird stuff you'll pull when you get it in hand and find a hair from my German Shepherd in the liner or something.

With how often it has been happening lately it was probably just a PM'd warning for mucking up a sales thread. Who really knows though?

Probably so. Didn't see any warned posts in the 2 possible threads that this may have occurred in but if that's the case I'd bet they were moved to the back end.

Man has there been some funky threads the last few days.

Bench...
I posted in his thread that he would not reply or respond with a "proof of life" pic.
I know why that is wrong.
It did lead to his wasted time and loss of sale.

I Have done a good deal of buying.
I have really tried to tailor my comms to a simple form.
But The way it seems,
Asking for anything after the commitment is a reason to be labled
Trouble.

Really what goes on should be between the two parties,
Based on understanding that neither is headed towards backing out or changing anything.

In fact the "conditions" after the commitment aught to be
The easiest to satisfy.
Bcuz the buyer wants the item more than his money
And same for the seller who wants the money.

A scammer has no investment or anything to lose,
Why act like there is?

Putting on the Detective eyes......

And Yep devolving while just forgetting that one glaring condition.

Neither is trying to back out or change anything......
Once committed.

The "condition" of asking for assurances can happen two ways and always do.
Either you ask or you are offered.

How that goes is your personality I suppose

^OP: Can you please post a link to thee exact sales thread, that this took place in? It would be helpful, if the seller could weigh in here, & share his experience of what went down here.

Ok. And I have nothing in mind for defense or counter to try and be faultless.
