I just had a weird idea, possibly not a good one, but worth thinking about. Anyhow, would cliching Mr. Becker's signature make it deep enough to put a ffg on it? With the exception of the BK&T/Ka-Bar stamp on the regrind.

According to this guy, he already has some. ???? Of course, he also speaks of some foolishness like selling off all of his Beckers, so I don't know.

Gotcha. Thought you were talking about the scales. Mine will likely be in leather fairly quickly. I'll probably also wrap some kydex around just for why nots sake.

I hear ya. I may try to dye my sheath OD. Not sure how it would work. Perhaps I'll let someone else be the guinea pig first. :D
 
Just ordered mine... my wife is asleep, might be in deep doo doo tomorrow, but oh well. just got some burlap today too, might be trying my hand at some homemade burlap micarta!!
 
To use or not to use................... I must decide but haven't done it yet.

I think I'd rather have the FFG version, but I'll have this one NOW (well in 3-5 business days). I plan to see how I like it then decide, or not decide.... we'll see.

Not safe queen, but a hedge against inflation :D

DAMN all you guys! AHHHH i freakin love it here :) ...this is just too much to pass up. i would be kicking myself in the @$$ if i didn't do it.... that being said.....BK16 order has been placed.... wifey is asleep and has no clue. I just got an 11 for my b-day on the 8th. I think i need to start spraying myself with OFF before i log into BF......that Becker bug is a bitch to keep away!

Yes that the simple answer. My thinking as of two days ago was that getting a production model 16 & 17 would give me best of both worlds, FFG and sabre grind (shh.... don't tell Bladite I said that). But sabre BK16 and BK17.... not so much different. Hmm...... we'll see.

I just wonder how different the proto and production 16 will perform in real life use. Probably not drastic, but noticeable? Hmmmm.....

I'm excited either way.
