I like a snark in a short skirt and a looong jacket!

Cool, thanks Derek, I'll have her look at that one. Also, the EMP is pretty sweet and that's on my short list...it might hurt if she picks that one!

We'll go shopping and she will ultimately choose what she wants, but it's nice to have some pointers on where to start.

So for a forum newbie, can someone explain "snark" threads?

Just had ankle surgery and have nothing better to do than hang out on forums :(

Snark = snide remark. In the case of the Becker forum, it's off-topic chat among those that hang out wit a slant towards snarkiness.

.44 magnum revolver :) because who needs a slide for that?

We already own one.

but it's not "hers" :) give her a gun then :>

now, is she looking for practical carry, or something she'd want to shoot a lot?

how about a rifle? ;)

tiny guns are no fun to shoot, and introducing a lady firearms via a tiny gun is mean.
But if it's for carry, that's another story.

Anyway, today was my last mid-year exam...Chemistry. English and Math (we say "maths" here, cos that "s" makes a whole lot of difference ) were pretty easy but frigging hell I hated that chem paper...Only answered about 10 questions out of like 100. I really regret picking the subject :grumpy:.

I can relate. My "math" (I call just about everything math regardless of what it actually is) final was hard as hell. Not because I didn't know the stuff but because my teacher was a b*tch and didn't give us a study guide of any kind nor did we review for the final. My grade before the final was a high B, afterwards it was a low C. Gives you an idea of how bad I did. As for the new necker, I want..

Emp is an awesome small frame 1911. When you get it, turn her on to the Springfield custom shop and go nuts.

After 12 years of marriage, my wife finally wants her own handgun. :) Actually, she's used tons of excuses not to shoot with me...usually "take [insert friend name here], you guys will have more fun". I finally got her to go and she's a freaking natural. What made me most proud was that she automatically assumed an agressive stance instead of the awkward leaning back and bracing for impact stance.

Anyone have a recommendation of what handguns to start looking at? The 1911 grip was a bit large for her and the XDs was ok with the small backstrap. The first person to say "revolver, because she can't work a slide" gets a 2x4 to the head.

I think it's raining...

They canceled it for here. The way they were talking earlier, we were going to hammered as well.

At the bar watching the hockey game. Not getting hammered but definitely enjoying the game. Now if only the Hawks would take the lead.

Browning Buckmark for loads of fun plinking, Sig p250 for low cost CCW in the caliber of her choice.
