So, Illinois State is really starting to piss me off. Like a whole new level of lividity is being reached. As an out of state resident I'm allowed to interpret up to 14 days in Illinois without having to get an Illinois license for an exorbitant fee ($325). I've worked for 6 days in Illinois actually contracted with the state. Now that it is done (and they owe me over $1,000 in pay) They are saying because I'm not an Illinois certified interpreter they won't pay me.

My neighbor's been. I have not. He said it's a little pricey to shoot on an individual basis, but the memberships are reasonable.

At this point it is just a pipe dream, I may have to stop on the way to the fall gathering. Last I heard he was trying to get licensed for full auto rentals. Which would make it more exciting.

i would push all reasonable and legal ways to get paid. include a copy of the code, the lack of requirement for license, and the bill, with a paydate of 2 weeks, and a list of interest/penalties. notarize, and send with tracking/confirmation.

contact the actual people you worked for, as a group, individually, and talk to them about this.

then it's fun time; consult a lawyer; consider a debt collection agency. worst case, you can file it as a business loss?

What range is this? I'm always checking out ranges when I travel so I can suggest/implement improvements at our local one.

Daaayum!!! That looked nasty! I hope the cameraman / woman, er uh, person was alright.

I'm guessing the champagne bottle didn't break on the hull.

So, after showing them their own bylaws and proof of my Mo certification and proof of résidence the state comptroller office has agreed to pay me.
