He is hilarious, i tried to move it because he looked uncomfortable and he gave me this crazy look and went right back to sleep on it the same way.

Lol. Dogs and Kids... fall asleep in the most unusual positions. If they were adults they would be in pain all the time lol

When my daughter was about three she named our cat Mrs. Dog. She used to carry thay cat around by its neck. But I guess the cat knew she was just a kid and allowed it.

Seems I took a few photos of the 2 being used last night. After breakfast I have a little cleaning / stropping to do.

Animals are usually more patient than humans when it comes to kids.
My dog loves playing with my kid brothers.
He always gives me a 'Save ME!' Look though LOL

Hey WW here's a couple links that might help.

It also helps to break the shape down to basic geometric shapes. So say you snap a knife in half and look straight at the broken part so it looks 2D. It would be symmetric on the horizontal. Now the secondary bevel is just two triangles, the primary is just a rectangle with a triangle, and then the rest is just a rectangle. Not sure if that helps what your doing?

Thinking about stripping that bad boy?

Eventually I will. Right now I have the coating smoothed right out because of how much I've used it. I even have some awesome bocote wood for scales when I eventually feel like taking on another project.

Mr T we're always up for projects on our blades :D
I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Since there was some dog pictures recently. Here is Becker and I enjoying a fire last night. For some reason he feels that he needs to lay in my lap when we have a fire. Besides my legs falling asleep it is kinda funny.

Very true. My problem is making time for it. After a day of work and wrestling with the kids I'm tired and just feel like vegging on the computer with a little snark ;). I can't get much done during the day because my kids are all up in my projects, destroying my work space, or getting too close to power tools.

Haha my dog is all up on my projects.
I like snarking out when I get home after a 0600-1430 day.
Still always have time to sharpen my blades though!

I love mine too but damn he drives me nuts haha!
So find any good places yet for us to go camping the 12th-14th? Gotta head back for the 15th for AM shift though.

I been here around 4 years and havent found what i consider a real "good" place for camping, we normally go to NJ at Wharton state park, its nice dont get me wrong but i prefer NOT camping next to other people i dont know. Havent found a single place like that yet.

I know thats right, if i slept like that i would have a kink in my neck and a headache lol

Thanks bud!!!

That first video has me cracking up!!! And its in no way funny, but im laughing because i have no IDEA what that guy is talking about!!! But thanks for thinking im smart enough to understand it :)

And its funny you mention cutting it in half!! Thats exactly what we did.... Last night i was on skype with Dan for a while and he was showing me how to use the online triangle calculators, and he was explaining to cut it in half and only work one side of the blade at a time. I also have an hour of online one on one college level tutoring coming up just to help me better understand how this works.

When i started really getting into large blades i had no idea what all goes into making something really perform, but the more i get into it the more i can see why certain things perform so much better than others. With the right geometry you can cut a tree in half in just a few swings with a pretty dull edge, but with bad geometry it might take you 5 minutes to get that same tree cut in half even with the sharpest of edges. Finding that perfect sweet spot is the key. Even knowing the "magical" numbers to shoot for is of no help if you cant figure the math out though. So im trying to learn how to do it, so i can figure it into my own designs in the future....

Wood then let's setup in the yard or something.
Gotta be outside and enjoying this weather!

Bigghoss, white box is still relatively cheap.
Reloading is aways the cheapest yet most time consuming option depending on the type of caliber.

Sharpening is a Zen like experience for me. I just relax and put blade to rock or sand paper. I love me getting things sharp. Seeing your video makes me want to invest in a work sharp to see if I can get my knives to that next level of sharp.

Bighoss - do it! I got an old press, dies, 1lb of powder, 2000 primers, for $100. I already have my brass. I need projectiles and a powder measure and I'm ready to rock.

It's a great piece of equipment!
I still have no problem watching something or listening to music while hand sharpening for an hour or so with my stones.
I find it calming to hear and feel steel glide across 2000#/5000# grit waterstones.
Almost enlightening.

Check out xtreme bullets. I haven't tried them yet, but will be soon. They are supposed to be pretty good and priced nicely.

Yeah. $22 for .38 special ans $24 for .45acp...

TulAmmo and PPU is cheaper But still spendy.

Been thinking about it for maybe 5 years. Almost bought a turret press setup a year ago. I think I'm gonna jump in with both feet and get a progressive. I can burn through 300 rounds or more a week.

I understand, especially when you like to plink like me and my buddy.
