I love the flamboyant colors of knives nowadays.

Some years ago Speedtech did some folders (auto IIRC) with metal handles brightly colored with splash patterns, those were really flamboyant.

One could always go with a Brous Coroner in Zombie Green/Blood Spatter! Now that's flamboyant!

I let a friend use one of my nice custom traditional camp knives while camping at a rendezvous a few years ago. The location was in the woods covered in heavy leaf litter. The knife had a carbon steel blade with a dark natural patina and dark curly maple scales...He dropped it somewhere near camp and we never found it...Since then, I have been attracted to knives that are easier to see in that kind of environment. A friend bought a new ESEE-6 in Viper Green. He disliked it so much that he gave it to me for my birthday. Yes, it's rather gaudy but it won't disappear in the leaves. I put a high visibility reflective lanyard on it...I have several Spyderco Salt knives and really like the bright yellow handles. ..So, its the brightness and ease of finding them that I find useful. Unless one is trying to hide in the bush with a knife on the belt or in hand, it seems to me that a black and camouflage knife is easily lost. If that is a tool I might have to depend on to survive then I want it as bright as possible. A flashing light attached would be fine too.

It looks like an oversized toy! Some fool will not respect it enough to handle with care and will hurt himself with it! Cops catch you with it you will get arrested on the spot!

LOL What?

You got that right, fella! I used to dismiss acrylic covers in favour of natural materials but, after actually trying one, I have to admit they are not only interesting to look at, they can also be of high quality and are reasonably durable. I'd buy more, fo' sho'!:cool:

Quite attractive. The more remote/isolated the location, the more I lean toward high vis. for outdoor use. I could care less if it was flaming pink.

LOL What?

Exactly!

Spyderco's FRN colors are fantastic, I wish they'd use the "toxic green" on more models. I lost interest in the USN forums and outside of forum editions its not a common color sadly.

I was really hoping this was a thread with people who liked fun colored knives, then I actually read the first two posts. :barf: This is why we can't have nice threads.

Well maybe this piece by Brous Knives is more easily handle-able while still being just as flamboyantly-colored!

Dude, you even so much as try to purchase it online, the NSA will deploy their weaponized satellite to bomb your house from orbit, true story.

Yep, it's definitely toy for kid who going to grow up to be future Hannibal Lecter!

BTW this pain scheme reminds me of some "artist" who splash paint all over white canvas and call it "Art", it's just lazy and pretentious!!!!

LOL, but not NSA instead o-BUM-a personally going to send his drone up your A**!!!!

LOL, but not NSA instead[REDACTED]

I know we're having a bit of a laugh, but please be careful and keep all political comments out of this section, or the Mods will swoop down and nuke US (and this thread!) from orbit.

Some of those last knives you guys posted are more trendy then flamboyant. Basically trying to milk the zombie fad going on with walking dead, resident evil and zombie stuff in general.

I'll admit I saw some balisong and OTF that are zombie themed that I like and most of them were name brand just a limited variation of that zombie color.

...With the style of knives I like I feel like I'm able to pull one out in front of a girl for a simple mundane task and have less judgement from it. ...

So pulling out an OTF for a mundane task gets you no judgement?

I love colorful knives, blue or green being particular favorites. I don't mind "boring black" per se, but when I have an option for anything but, I go for the color.

It does. I use a switchblade to pick my nails, a balisong to flip with because I'm self diagnosed with ADD and always need to fiddle with something. Things you do will get judged by people. It's a matter of what you do and how much, will equal how much judgement you get. I like flamboyant colors to begin with but I also think it contributes to how the knife can be perceived that's why I used the pictures in my OP.
