I owe a lot of money to a loan snark!

I don't even like any freakin noodles. I make mine with mashed potatoes. I call it spaghetti and F noodles but I don't abbreviate the F when I say it round here. :D

That sounds interesting. I don't cook so I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to trying it, but I would like to.

Didnt mean to kill the snark, back to better topics.

Like

beans + meat + tomato sauce + whatever you want to throw in there = chili

beans + meat = burrito filler

Meat + sauce = pasta topper

WW - the package arrived today. Now I just have to learn how to use it properly. Again, Thanks a bunch.

The last 10 hours of posts is what truly makes this forum unique.. we had "discussions" on a wide range of topics including::
- ornithology
- different woods in smoking meats
- spaghetti sauce and various "supporting carbohydrates" (noodles vs spaghetti vs potatoes vs pasta shells)
- cuts of meat and their preparation
- geography lessons
- languages (spanish, english and ASL)
- chili (no beans) vs not chili (meat sauce with spices and beans)

Some haters in other areas wanted to know why Beckerheads/BHs2B" get a break. It's not that we get a break. It's that we have a well-rounded, world-spanning alliance of people that enjoy variety in their discussions.
I was on a bit of a rampage today, I am going to blame it on the coffee, had two and a half pots... We all know that isn't that.

On the "Great Chili Debate", there is no debate. IMNSHO, chili does NOT have beans in it. The beans are served separately. You cannot cook beans properly if they are in the chili. To dump properly cooked beans in a pot of properly cooked chili ruins both. One must savor the different spices and aromas that come from each dish individually. Great chili can be made in as little as 3 or 4 hours. Great beans take at least 24 hours to prepare (especially if you want the beans to be gas-free,or nearly so).
So, what about preparing the beans for 20 hours before the chili and then add the mostly prepared beans to the almost prepared chili?

That sounds interesting. I don't cook so I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to trying it, but I would like to.
Wait... wut?!? Don't cook... Like, at all? How is that possible?

Hey WW, hang tough man. Smoke, prayers and other good vibes en route.
+1, good vibes en route.

Tonight I was feeling nostalgic so I popped on Hackers... Just a great horrible movie.

Does heating stuff in the microwave count as cooking? I don't think it does. Neither does assembling a samitch. Between those things and the burrito place two blocks away I'm mostly covered.

Are you for real? Sorry, that was a knee jerk reaction. I had to teach my sister's friends (and sister) how to make basic meals. Ok, I didn't have to, but I felt really bad that a group of 5 girls couldn't even make basic meals not even from scratch meals, but for real make a meal.

I really can't say whether I'm a good cook or not. I can grill/burn dang near anything. I can read and follow a recipe for sure though. :D

Meh, I could cook if I wanted to. But why go through the trouble? When I'm hungry I want to eat now, not 20 minuets from now and then have a big mess to clean up.

That is how my sister still is, even still after she has learned how to cook. It still baffles me. She has a hard time cooking for half an hour to make a full meal, she'd rather microwave and toaster oven everything. Mind you when I cook, it will become an all day (or 3) ordeal. My gnocchi turned out to be 3 hours for that meal, my chili is a 4-5 hour deal, my lasagna is a 3 day ordeal... Day one make the cheese and the sauce, day two the noodles, day three grind the meat, assemble and cook off.

Yeah. Nuts to that noise.

To be fair, a GOOD tomato sauce needs to cook down for at least 8 hours, and the longer it reduces the BETTER it tastes.

You forgot gardening :p

Those cats are just jealous of how incredibly cool we are. You'll notice both the Becker mods and supermods told them to basically go pee up a rope :D

Where's the fun in that? :grumpy:

Sharpies have "pipe cleaner" yellow legs and Cooper's have "pencil" sized legs....sometimes that's the only way to I.D. them as they overlap some in size.

as well, sexual dimorphism :D

that means the males and females aren't the same size of times. in particular, the female can be much larger. but the males are still prettier.
