On a completely unrelated note....

Ok so i found out that Texas adds these surcharges to traffic tickets/violations... So even if you pay the ticket you could have to pay another fee for 3 years on top of the ticket...

SO Many years ago when i was living in Texas i got a few tickets, i paid the tickets but didnt know about the surcharges, because Florida didnt have anything like that when i was driving there....

So i moved out of Texas, and thats been over 5 years ago... But i found out while talking to family last night that Texas may have a warrant out for me due to un-paid surcharge fees.... But i never even knew abut those fees and thats been years ago... And since i no longer drive i was never even told my old license was suspended.

My question is, I dont remember my old driver license number from over 5 years ago, and have no idea how im suppose to fix this problem now, i dont know the amount i owe, i dont know who to call or who to pay to get this taken care of.

Any of you Texans have any advice? I was living in Abilene then if that makes a difference.

Wood,

TDOT has nothing to do with drivers licenses. Even if they had access to that info, they probably couldnt give out any information.

You need to contact TD department of public safety. Surcharges are handled by a different department as well.

Check this site:

http://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/customer_service/

It has links and info. You may be able find a way to calculate your old Tx DL number. You can for a Florida DL as well as a few other states.

Good luck

Doc

Hey GSoM, I was in your 'hood yesterday, but the schedule was packed full so I didn't holler in advance.
Chilly weather you've got up there, and what serious piles of snow!
Had good meeting with some serious sonar experts.

Serious piles of snow (that are now actually ice) and frozen salt water...I wasn't here yesterday anyway; back to work starting last week. I was in Lynn (,Lynn / the city of sin / you never come out / the way you went in....). Maybe next time.

totally off topic but umm WTF is this ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hunting-Cam...81325809287?pt=AU_Hunting&hash=item2a37dc4687 Notice it says KaBar on it ?
Ka-Bar makes a couple of kukri knives, one with a classic "Ka-Bar" handle and one with a hard rubber handle more like the HD Warthog....that doesn't look like either, but it could be old stock. Dunno.

Not a fan, but thanks for the link. Looks like fun! I doubt I could get either of my girls to participate in something that physical. They're still young, though.

I've seen some stuff about roller derby and I keep trying to find out where the eff they have the friggen bouts around here. I know there's a local team and all but I can't ever seem to find their schedule.

People sometimes have a hard time with that, especially when someone asks "how did you make this?" and the are expecting some sort of accurate accounting of what's in whatever you made.

I'm one of those people. I'm very process-oriented, and I typically research the heck out of something before I attempt it, to reduce my chances of failure. Miss Angie on the other hand, is more bold in her approach, and she tends to embrace a new concept and just dive right into it, trusting her own experience and skills to help her make it work as she goes along.

That makes for lots of fascinating discussions in our house, and we both have very high success rates (especially when we work together), so I say... whatever works for ya, go for it :)

I am about 99% sure they want the money and not the hassle of having to deal with you, lol..

On a side note I am excited to try this out.. friend of mine works for a BBQ place, they sell grills and accessories and I bought him a 4X4 board and he bought me one of these..

We used to have a couple if those. They got lifted, along with the grill...

My wife and both my daughters play derby. My daughters have watched my wife play their whole life. The all live and breath roller derby. My girls have been skating since they learned to walk. Little tiny plastic skates, full protective gear and me duct taping pillows to their butts. We never made them do this, they begged to skate. My 8 year old daughter is in her 5th consecutive year on a derby league. She loves it. Here she is at 7 years old about to skate a bout at the Filmore auditorium in Denver.

Thanks doc, Im looking into that site, appreciate it man.

Well... We are suppose to have another big snow storm coming in this week and colder temps as well.

And Friday we were suppose to be going to a cabin up in the mountains for my 30th Bday, but with the snow storm we had to postpone the trip because we called and they said if there is still a lot of un-melted snow it would be difficult for us to even make it to the cabin in a little car.

So, the next available date we could reserve it for is not until April 11th.

That sucks. But by then i might have my knives in from Crimson and my Giedymin chopper will be here by then as well.... So i guess the good new is i will get to play with more then, than i could now.

Took my old beat-up Wrangler and dad took his CJ3B and trailer out to the woods today to cut wood for wedding reception center pieces. We found a nice dead & dry walnut log and got plenty of cross sections for the little lady to pick through and choose from.

It was a pretty good day out bumming around in the holler with Dad and the Jeeps..... Oh, and the new BK16 Uncle E sent up was able to go out and get a little dirty too.
