I want to believe - Survive! Speculations! Get it here!

I was going to post this on another thread but I decided this might be the better place for it. Bonus, it makes for a convenient bump. I get a lot of enjoyment from reading this thread.

We are working on the details for a plan regarding the wait time issue. Not everyone is going to like it. But that statement can be applied to everything else we have ever done. So we've decided to come up with our ideal situation. If we are going to have naysayers no matter what, we might as well be happy with the way we are doing things.

The details will be available in the next few weeks.

We're getting HATS!! Woohoo!!

Did you say free hats !!!
What about patches ?

Like these???

1. Whoa nice!!!!!

2. What am I looking at? A rendering or are they not stitched patches, but rubber or something?

Ok sooooo I see the chatter about mystery steels on 4.7. Butttt what about the gso 12? Makes you think or is it just me?

I don't know why but I was thinking there was mention of a S! machete at one point, or was it just in one of my S! Wet dreams?

Hahaha! I know that type of dream a little too well.

Did we discuss all our thoughts on 154cm? The little I know is it is supposed to be a pretty great stainless. Depending on what the other mystery steel is and what Guy has planned, the top of my wishlist is crowned by a 254cm 4.7 with natural handles and a coyote tan sheath!

Also, my anxiety is growing over Ellie's post about changes coming up. I was joking with most of my speculations before, but I'm nervous if they're forced to do something drastic to bring about the change they want!

I thought that the best way to reduce wait times was to have inventory, and that the starter was supposed to give them enough capital so that they could manufacture larger lots so that they wouldn't be out of stock all the time. If they can keep all the parts in stock then it does sound like the "some assembly required" approach might address the bottleneck in distribution. I wonder how long it takes to screw the handle scales onto the blank once you have all the parts pulled from the bins?
Perhaps everything will be shipped with one configuration and if you want options you can purchase them separately at a later time.
That way the knives could be built and shipped without having to pull individual parts for each order.
I guess only time will tell! :)

From they way they're talking I think the new equipment and bigger batches of steel sheets is paying off from the starter. The "bottle neck" is the one man sharpening. Maybe the change is to get another person sharpening even if that means each knife doesn't arrive atom splitting sharp. Guy has really made a name for himself with how sharp his knives arrive to customers, but personally I wouldn't complain if they came with just a good working edge.

ALSO like I said before I just think life would be a lot easier with limited knife options. I'm in love with my red handled 5, but look at Fiddleback Forge's production line. You get one steel and two handle options. All this is Silver Needle's personal ideas only of course.

See I think they should be like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. If someone complains, NO KNIFE FOR YOU!!
