I want to know YOUR grail

mammoth bark mnandi (one of the rare ones with a lot of white and thin black cracks along the central groove) with damascus blade

emerson cqc5

3.5 inch hellfire hinderer with DLC blade and DLC handles, blue ano'd everything, skull filler tab, and a smooth carbon fiber scale.

i would not say i have a grail that i just drool over and must have but i do plan on picking up a few knives that i wanted for a long time over the next few years. a hunting knife from phil wilson, emerson CQC-6, hinderer xm-18 3.5 spanto, strider DDC.

here are my 2 grails… got them both within a couple months of each other… Peter Rassenti Snafu and Nirvanna. both are integral frame locks… so the whole frame is one piece ! not many custom makers make integrals.

Vorhees Vorpal subhilt twin system in shoulder holster rigs. Saw one once at House of Blades in Ft Worth and have lusted after it ever since. Saw close to it posted on fleabay for only $1800 a couple of months ago.

I figure with one of those on the right and the Glock 20 on the left, I'm ready for just about anything within 50 yards.

But I am not rich, good looking and people don't really like me that much.

At this point it's a Gene Wiseman Grandaddy Barlow, in blue bone. For a fixed blade I'd be enamored to get a Ray Kirk, "Raker" Mini MBS. I actually have more expensive knives, but it screams my name, as an EDC fixed blade.

This would be it, I don't have it but if I get it somehow I'll give up collecting knives....well...at least for a good while ;)

the sky's the limit as far as wanting a grail knife but i'd like a pm2. i wouldnt feel comfortable walking around with a $1k pretty knife.

A few years back, I commissioned a bladesmith here, to make me a pattern welded Viking Langsax. He did an excellent job. 350 layers of steel, beautiful pattern, 22 inch blade.
He agreed to make me a companion knife, same style, but with a 9 to 10 inch blade. Then he backed out. My Grail, would be his completing the commission, and making the knife he agreed to do.

I went through a phase of buying expensive handmade hunting knives but now I'm into EDC folders.

For now my grail would be the upcoming Spyderco Manix 2 XL in S90V.

For me, as a guy who has paid less than 100 bucks for every folder I own, my personal grails are not as amazing as most of yours. I always thought of them as the knife I really wanted and would get when the stars aligned and I found one for the right price, while also having the funds at the time. Well it worked out and last night I picked up a ZT 0561, which was a knife I always wanted. As far as grails I will probably never have, I would say any Snody custom folder, a Nick Wheeler Bowie, anything at all that Don Hanson or Bruce Bump has ever made, and anything made by Robert Loveless (yeah right hey).
