Flame Suit on...

Yeah I know, I should have stayed away from eBay...but wifey wanted to make sure this gift was in, so away I went.

Long story short, the asshats at Classiccutleryusa wouldn't know a knife if it jumped out of the box and slit their stupid throats.

If you're eBaying, stay as far away from these jerks as possible. If I remember correctly, fraud is still a crime. If you list a knife as having a particular steel, then sell the knife with that steel, not another older version, and say "Sorry, All sales are final".

Asshats................

File a complaint with ebay/paypal. If you show the ad lied, you will get your money back.

You didn't per chance buy a benchmade Griptilian and think you were getting 154cm AND INSTEAD GOT 440C did you?

Yes you should get a refund on the strength of that. DRAG having to go through all that though, sorry to hear of your mishandling. I've bought some basic stuff from them to the EU and not had any problems at all.

Close, very very close...but I shall now refrain from further comment, as I have turned the matter over to eBay and PayPal...and I just received an email from the jerks telling me that I've been blocked from their store! OH NO! Where will I go to get scammed now?

Well, that's gonna hurt them. The reason I asked, was I have 3 of their actions in my "My Ebay" watch list, but I will pass on them. :thumbdn:

I won the old Chinook-1 440V, but they sent me the new Chinook-2 S30V. When I asked about refund they call me "the thief". I failed a claim in PayPal, and got partial refund after 30 days.

sucks to be you, for sure. Sorry about all your hassle but hey, LOL, at least they didn't rip you for your sense of humour! I did actually laugh out loud when I read that comment.

Look at it this way (I do); you gotta get ripped off once in a while. That way you can really appreciate the good deals when you do get them.

Hope it all works out well for ya.

Thanks for the warning. I was looking at making a great knife buy on eBay as well until I read the outfit's fine print:

Our shipping policy: This item typically ships between 0-5 days after payment is received, sometimes up to 10 days. We do not notify you if your item is going to ship late. Please do not contact us about shipping status unless 14 days have passed after your payment. Please, if you need this item shipped immediately do not buy it from us. It takes us at least 1 day to retreive from our warehouse on the other side of the state. We sell items in our local storefront that impact our quantities on ebay. Our local storefront takes priority over ebay. Occasionally this will cause the ebay buyer to purchase items that are not in stock. When this happens we will issue a refund. If this out of stock condition bothers you to the point where you have the urge to leave negative feedback, please do not buy from us.

Now thats customer service.

They have some interesting time frames here. How about, after 20 days, you will know for sure that you have been ripped off?

Please, if you need this item shipped immediately do not buy it from us

Translation: If you really want this item before Haley's Comet returns, order from a reputable company.

It takes us at least 1 day to retreive from our warehouse on the other side of the state.

Translation: We really like driving and thats why we put our warehouse all the way across the state from our store. But its a small state.

We sell items in our local storefront that impact our quantities on ebay

Translation: We keep a bare minimum stock.

Our local storefront takes priority over ebay

Translation: You would have better luck buying your knife if you drove to Louisiana where our store is located.

Occasionally this will cause the ebay buyer to purchase items that are not in stock

Translation: We often sell knives that we don't have in stock but we don't mind taking your money.

When this happens we will issue a refund

We know that you enjoy getting jacked around for a month on your knife purchases.

If this out of stock condition bothers you to the point where you have the urge to leave negative feedback

No, actually it leaves us feeling like hunting you with dogs...

Please do not buy from us

Translation: We have the poorest customer service on the web but please don't tell anyone.

The fine print is exactly as it appears on their ads. The comments are mine.

Excellent translation GB!

I can't wait to email them a link to this thread!

My bet is that this clown has little or no stock. Gets an order and then places the order for his customers knife.

2 problems arise which he covers in his BS.
1. Distributors may not have the knife (could be on backorder until another run is made.)
2. Timely delivery is not possible most of the time.

If my guess is correct he is just a middle man with very little if any on hand inventory exposure.

Thanks, SPX Trader. This company is out of LA. At least you know what to expect when you order from them-the unexpected. It pays to not only read the fine print but also the feedback and comments. I find myself resisting the temptation to save a few bucks and going back to the companies that I can rely on.

Look what they have changed their statement to this morning.

"We ship just about every day. If it's sunny and beautiful, we may close up the shop for the afternoon to explore yet another trail here in The White Mountains (yes, we actually use many of the great products we sell), but rest assured your order will receive priority treatment!"

I guess in the case of the company that you mentioned here, you can only hope that the weather is bad enough to keep them inside processing orders.
