If you could only have ONE GEC, which would it be?

i really thought my choice would be the 15 radio jack, but on second thought, maybe the camp knife for overall usefulness.

Well, I'm a college student and cannot yet afford a GEC, at least not "just because". BUT, if GEC offered me one free knife, then I would definitely take a #89 Riverboat Gambler with a spear main and walnut scales. I have no idea why I like these so much, I probably wouldn't even carry it, but something about it just spoke to me from the first moment I saw one.

I dig those too, and the lemon testers and such. Only gripe I have with those that they need some sort of suit pocket or pocket slip for comfy carry (or so I would presume).

They aren't all that rare so you should be ok finding one when you do get the coin together.

Horrific idea :eek::eek:

But, if it had to be one, it would be this 83 in Stag. Always subject to change and whim...fortunately :D

Looks like you need the forum knife 85 with the cap lifter to satisfy both.

I only have three. a 56 in ebony, a 72 in ebony and an 81 Abilene Stock in osage orange. Out of them as well as the rest of the collection the 81 stockman hits my pocket daily. If they made the 81 in ebony I would buy it. My only pet peeve I have with GEC is that they don't make their cam tangs as smooth opening as the old time knife companies. Maybe they've fixed it by now but it doesn't stop me from buying their knives. With that said, having the Abilene stock keeps me from buying more knives as it fills my needs as a tool and an obsession.GEC, Please make an Ebony 81 Stockman!

I've given it lots of thought actually, but it sounds like the cap lifter doesn't work too well on those models and is a nail breaker to boot.

Guess what I really need is to mod an 85 with a good caplifter. :)

That's why you need to have knife opener in your keychain, so that you can open while you open. :D

That's a tough choice. It's a toss-up between my Soda Scout and my #77 Barlow. The Texas Camp knife gets honorable mention, but I think it's too big and heavy to be versatile enough for every day.
