I apologize if I’m coming across that way. I was only trying to point out that it is not 500 minimum for secondary pricing from what I’ve seen. Your experience may very well be different. Not sure how I was being argumentative, but that was not my intention. Only trying to give OP a broader picture of their options. I hope you are doing well.
 
A couple G10 Marbles, a couple Classic Carbon II Rough Ryder, 60 ... maybe 70 Sam's Choice Mountain Rush 2 liters, a few dozen arrows, 71 inch Hickory English Longbow, 2 or 3 months supply of Kayak Peach chew, a set of 8 Jinhao 599 fountain pens ($14) 2 bottled ink, and a couple XL thin crust Sausage, Pepperoni, and mushroom pizza.
 
James Behring's hand forged 01 tool steel with its precision convex grind.
You can pay more but in my opinion there is no substitute.

Should I chose to go with less expensive knives (than CRK) , I’d go for a Military in S110V and maybe one in S30V too. And for whatever reason , the Cold Steel SR1 tanto in S35VN and green G10 always looked interesting to me.

But I have Sebenzas on my mind at the moment.
 
So I'm currently putting money away for fun money also. If this is me I would be getting a Benchmade factory titanium bugout in steel or choice and a tsprof blitz 360 sharpener.

I am also putting money away for a Shiro neon zero.

Esse Junglas and Military in s110v or Inkosi with drop point a blade. But the ideas are endless.
 
I'd just camp the CRK for sale forum and wait for a good deal on a large 21/ 31 with micarta inlays. Make sure the seller has good feedback and use paypal goods and services.

Agreed. That’s exactly what I did and it worked out great! (For once I made a rational knife decision.;) )
