If you had to go to war, what is the one fixed blade and 1 folder you would take??

That I have; Zero Tolerance 0350 (my EDC) and my Becker BK-9
That I dont have; Zero Tolerance 0560 and and if it was still made, the Becker Rienhart kukri (not sure if that spelling is right)

I had issues with my chain of command over what I could carry. A MT D/A Sodom is what I was allowed over balisongs and OTFs.

For fixed, my old Cold Steel SRK. I've deployed with it twice, holds a good edge, strong blade, not too big or heavy, inexpensive enough that I wouldn't go nuts if I lost it. For folder, I'd take an Endura for the same reasons as the SRK.

I would probably go with a Becker BK-9 or 7 and a SAK Forester or leatherman if that's an option. The Beckers are tough and hold an edge very well. The SAK or leatherman are sort of self explanatory.

A 'war' where my rotund and chronologically challenged (64+) body might be 'enlisted' (I was 'drafted' once... a few years back...) would be, conceptually speaking, dire circumstances, indeed! I would choose my Benchmade 171 'BladeSport' as a neck knife (FB) and my BM 3150, a mini/auto, as my folder.

Okay, what if I had to leave the house - really - and meet the widespread civil unrest from the economy 'running off the cliff', the Zombie apocalypse, or a film crew from the 'Doomsday Preppers' show, it'd likely be a ZT-0551 folder and a KaBar/Becker BK-2 as my fb. They are in my 'bug-out-bag'.

Today, I'd likely have my BM 755 MPR and a ZT-0561 in my pocket... that should be enough for the war I usually wage... opening clamshell blister packs is much more difficult than UPS/USPS packages & bills.

Well I took another look at this thread :D
And I have a couple more ideas.

Or maybe the folder should be a multitool

For me :

Fixed: a gossman big boar tusker in A2 or S7
folder: a xm-18 3.5 flipper or a ZT 0560
And some sort of vic or leatherman

No fixed blade for me.
I don't like them.
If I HAD to choose a fixed blade it would be a SwampRat Ratmandu.
Folder - I think everyone is picking tough beefy knives because this is WAR.. but I would carry my Large Sebenza. It can handle some tougher tasks but makes a perfect EDC for all types of uses. In my pack I would have my Curtiss Knives Nano Linerlock and probably my ZT 0550. Along with my Custom SAK.

Fixed: Fallkniven A1
Folder: Spyderco Military in CTS-XHP

Both are light, durable and easy to sharpen.

At this time my choices are
fixed: Chris Reeve GB 5.5 ( in reality my government issues a Glock field knife)
folder: Chris Reeve large Sebenza.
red mag
In my pack I' add a multitool (swiss spirit)

Bark River Bravo 1 (3V) or Fallkniven F1.
And either my Spyderco Military (M390) or Spyderco Southard.

The knives are just tools. Guns are for fighting.
