If you had to pick one knife to carry forever...

Vic Soldier would be my pick.

It would be my Mini Griptilian, but being the only knife if an omega spring failed, I would have to ship it off and wait. So in that case, my ZT900.

If I had to be completely honest here, I would probably have to say the Svord peasant mini. I know it's not pretty, or refined, and doesn't have the best fit and finish, but it's 1.5 ounces, small enough not to scare anyone, is carbon steel so can throw a good spark and holds a decent edge, easily sharpened, has a small tang on the back so provides the strongest 'lock' on any folder I own, can be opened with one hand, and can be easily removed from the scales in a survival situation to create a makeshift spear if I needed it to. Not to mention it's dirt cheap. There's so many good things about this blade.

I mean it's not nearly as impressive of my Spydercos, GECs, or Le Thiers, but there's something primitive about this tool that just gets the job done. It can fill so many uses.

I'm not one to switch knives from a pool of everyday carry knives. I would choose the knife that is in my pocket right now. A GEC 71 Bullnose. A great knife!

One knife forever.... hmm a folding blade would be my first impression because of my love and evergrowing collection buts there is too many variables to break over time and thats not really logical for a one knife fits all and that all you get. Hunting, skinning it would have to be a multi purpose fixed blade. Obviously stainless for corrosion resistance and long life, im thinking nothing fancy or made of supersteel, so it can be kept up in field. Ya i would go for T3 tom brown tracker. It isnt amazing steel or a spydie. But its easily one of the best purpose driven fully functional fixed blades i can think of for this instance! Just my pref but the t3 is one of the most useful camp/ outdoors knife made, period!

Only one knife? .... Got to be this one. It feel so solid, I know It'll survive just about any situations. For the rest I'll get a fixed blade (but that's for another thread 😅

If I could carry it without fear of the blade being seized, and myself arrested, I'd probably do some research and buy the biggest BADDEST bowie knife I could afford.

My best bowie right now is my cold steel natchez bowie(I bought two), the old ones with micarta handle and san mai iii blade.
Really strong knives as far as I can tell. I've chopped trees down with them and the edge stays razor sharp

I've tortured myself doing custom knife searches, but I'm not all that well off enough to spend the price of a used car on a hunk o steel

But if I could only carry one knife I'd make it count
