If you had to pick one knife to carry forever...

If I didn't have to pick one I already own, I'd pick the Cold Steel Espada XL. Lash it to a branch, hunt me some boar.

I've got a number that are right there in contention, but for today's money I'd go with a Hinderer XM-18 3.5" slicer/flipper.....just fits in all the boxes!!

Brancron, what is that thing? Looks awesome!

My Ken Lowry Loveless-style Boot-Chute knife - it's my default knife, and the one I would choose for sure.

While my first instinct is to choose one of my favorite folders, like my CF Insingo 21, or a fixed blade like my custom Ratmandu, I know that the smartest answer would be:

This Farmer would do everything I could need a knife for.

Another Vote for the Farmer! It's already one of my most carried knives. My most carried is a Pioneer, so not much difference. I figure to be slicing and dicing food more that people.

Think I might have to go with my bark river trail buddy. Small enough to carry, but sturdy and would last.

Almost no parts to go wrong except for the coil spring which is easily replaced, plus the knife will still lock if the spring fails. I wouldn't trust a liner or a frame lock to last the rest of my life.

With folders, I am pretty settled with my absolute favorites in terms of using; it would either be a Vic Adventurer SAK or GEC #42 two blade slip joint. I don't need one hand openers or a knife geared toward personal defense, but I have them.

I am unsettled on fixed blades, but my current favorite is a Dozier Pro Guides knife. I really like the Blackjack 125 and it would be my second choice.

The thread question may be the only scenario that would make me consider pulling my Large Sebenza from the drawer where it's lain for years.
