I think if you choose "Ugly Betty" you will undermine your products. Factory Second will be a more prudent way to go!
If I understand it right, it would be both... "Factory Second" for seconds and "Ugly Betty" for a second that's worse then a second... Am I reading it right ??
I see now! Thank you for highlighting that as I had not read it properly and just skimmed through it! So Ugly Betties are like factory 3rds!![]()

Under the flag though? A simple mark like the one used under the handle but in a visible location would sure do the job as well without drawing so much attention.
One of the issues with the existing mark is that it is done by hand so the divots aren't precise at all. Doing it with the engraver just makes it look cleaner and will be a bit faster. We didn't add it to the logo side because it is already pretty busy over there. We toyed around with the idea of removing the flag but that didn't seem right.
If I may make a suggestion, What about engraving a "2" or "2nd" on the flat between the pommel and the lanyard hole? It would be prominent (not covered by the scales), fast (because it's engraved), and would not mess up the asthetics of the flag.
Alternately, You could ghost engrave the second mark under the flag and that would keep it cleaner than the one on Instagram.
I like these ideas a lot. Of course I'm one of the few that thinks the ghost engraving looks better than the dark logos. They just look more subtle and less Tops knives style.
Too much printing and they start to look like NASCAR themed knives.
