Injured Outdoorsman Needs Forum Search Help

In Oregon, all that any insurance company has to pay is what the insured persons policy covers. So, if you have a $500,000 in medical bills, and there is only $300,000 on the table, guess who gets stuck with the remaining bills............
Doesn't matter who is at fault or not.

Where is the justice?? Just like everything else, it is all about money.

The extra money went to buy the politicians who wrote the bill saying insurance companies only collect money, they don't have to pay it out.

Ridiculous is putting it mildly. If that's all "insurance" did, you'd be better off investing your own money and insuring yourself. Keep at it. it isn't the entire insurance company making this decision. It is ONE CLERK at ONE DESK denying the claim. Aggravate them till they come up off what they owe you.

Hey guys,

Got some things straightened out, and I GOT MY LEG TODAY!!!!
I took in a yard of camo cloth and had them laminate it around the socket. It turned out sweet looking, almost classy. The hardward is polished titanium and stainless. The socket is made out of laminated carbon fiber and some type of plastic.
This thing is a work of art!!!!
Other than my wife, daughter, first deer, first car, and Yellowstone, it's the most beautiful thing I have every seen.

Im not going to work tomorrow so I can get somethings done such as taking photos and playing with guns & knives & fire. Well, maybe not fire and maybe not guns & knives yet because I can walk now!!!!! I can't sit still.

I still have to use crutches because I can't put my full body weight on it yet, and I also don't trust it/myself without crutches.

I haven't sat down much since I got it and I exhausted, but it's amazing!!!

I wish I could talk (with words) to you guys about it cause there is so much I would like to say. It would take a week to type out my thoughts and feelings, especially about the amazing treatment I have recieved from you guys.

I want to thank everyone of you guys for the your prayers, words of incouragement, gifts and offers of gifts, and everything else.

Pictures will be taken tomorrow, and when I figure out how to post them they wont stop coming.

Thanks for listening my friends.

Scott

Good to hear from you again. Glad to see you're well on your way and in great spirit. You'll be up running around in no time with your wife nagging you not to run with knives.

Scott,
I hope that carrying all that gear around won't be too much for your new leg. Congratulations and keep us posted!

Your state has a Department of Insurance. Copy all your stuff, write a clear, concise letter stating your concerns and the insurance company's response to them, copy the insurance company, send it registered...and await responses.

Decades ago, when first working at an insurance company, the company had special people, very experienced, to deal with Department of Insurance cases. They take them very seriously, and know they have to keep their regulators satisfied.

Best wishes.

Guys, I feel great other than some major soreness.

I haven't had much time for pictures yet, but very soon.

A really long story short............

Heard from some friends about a fella who I went to high school with (never really knew due to the fact he was a few classes a head of me) that had got his lower left leg amputated about 60 days after me.
Anyhow, I ended up making a doctor appointment close to home and the receptionist I was talking with was this guys wife!!! Very small world.
We exchanged numbers so I could talk to her husband about what I was going/have gone through.

Well, we talked a couple times today and it was like we were talking with ourselves. We have had some many of the same exact things happen through out this whole process. We are going to hook up for some beers on Sunday!
This guy is as excited to see my leg as I was getting it. It felt really good to be able to help someone out by just letting them know what to expect. He seems like a really nice guy and I'm sure we will become good friends.

So anyhow, I will be getting pics and all that stuff done real soon. I decided to give the leg a rest tomorrow by sitting on the river fighting some salmon and sturgeon.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Look for those pics early next week. I have to go to work on Monday and show the guys. I'm really easy, so I'm sure I will be talked into staying to work the day. Hey, if I can take some of the load off my buddies, I'm gonna do it!!!

Scott

I don't know how much rest you'll get fighting salmon and sturgeon but it sounds like a great way to spend the day!

Just when you start to despair of the way people treat each other you come across a thread like this.

Looking forward to those pics and some trip reports from your travels with your new leg and knives.
