Is Snody Crazy

Having had the privilege of spending some one and one discussion time with Mike Snody at the BM booth at SHOT the last year it was in Vegas , I can tell you that Mike is very passionate about knifemaking as well as his family. We must have chatted it up for 45 minutes or so , just talking life as well as knifemaking.

The way I see it , the man works his butt off making killer knives and has fun doing it...

SHOT 2011 Mike ?

I hate rap and rappers + all Gangsta stuff but heck, if Snoop Dogg or 50Cent would make good knives I would buy them. What I've heard Snody's knives are league of their own. I certainly would buy his knives for their quality, even I don't like his marketing style. Only fool would not buy a good stuff for disliking something... Of course you gotta hold your pinciples though.

Fun pisses some people off.
Sad.
Snody's antics don't piss me off in the slightest, they just seem kinda retarded, as opposed to funny. His antics do not bother me nearly enough not to purchase knives from him, unlike Strider, Cold Steel, Dark Ops, and Mantis.;)

Only fool would not buy a good stuff for disliking something... Of course you gotta hold your pinciples though.
 People who hold to their principles are fools???

That's crap. Only a fool would not buy good stuff for disliking something WHEN NOTHING ELSE IS AVAILABLE!!!

The way I see it is there are plenty of knife makers. And why not simply buy something of them instead?

It's not like Snody is the only one making cool knives.

Yes there is plenty good knife makers so if you don't like someone marketing gimmick's there's plenty fish out there. and let me rephrase my quote as english is not my native tongue sometimes phrases don't come out right, so let me rephrase this quote:
Only fool would not buy a good stuff for disliking something... Of course you gotta hold your pinciples though.

If you like the knife, way it feels, way it looks but you don't buy it because you don't like person who made it, you will regret that later on and feel yourself as fool, but when it comes to one's principle's its better than one feels fool of oneself rather than oneself sells one's principle's.

Now this is more close what I was thinking *remind me don't post when you're tired*

Just out of curiosity -- I have no dog in this "fight" and like Mr. Snody's knives just fine -- I wonder how many people who gladly dismiss the "gangsta marketing" as all in good fun also excuse Lynn Thompson's commercial antics as simply marketing? (I, for one, think a good knife has no provenance, so I'd be one of those people gladly dismissing the marketing methods of both.)

Mike's marketing is not based on stealing other people's designs. He doesn't badmouth other makers, he actually makes his knives and does a damn good job in doing so.
Cold Steel is more of bottom feeder kind of company.
It's an insult to any honest knfemaker to be compared to Cold Steel.
Just my $.02

Well said.

I've used brown paper bags for finishes on wood, clear coat, etc for a good long time. Much cheaper than wet and dry.

Thanks for all of the kind words and support for Snody. Mike is my good friend and I am a collector of his knives. The Youtube videos are very popular and have helped Mike increase his brand recognition and product demand. I also run a Youtube channel and do what I can with my videos, although my channel doesn't have 92K views like Mike's does. At any rate, making videos are a blast and we are having way too much fun creating them to stop. :D

Here's one of my videos featuring Mike's new $99 Bail Out Knife:
