Is Snody Crazy

Put down the haterade and drink the kool-aid form the Real-est. HAH! I love it man.. Snody's got us all in a tizzy. Got the 201 by Benchmade and it led me to this thread. I may have to get the Sportster now, the real-er Snody 201. I think Snody is a good knife maker and really is Ghetto like he says and the Ghetto branding is probably a bit overdone buy hey that's marketing hype. I'll have to admit after seeing his Youtube videos before reading this thread I was also wondering, "What's up with this Snody guy? Is he crazy?" Yeah, like a fox!

Yea, some get it some don't, but you can't deny that his knives and designs are just kick ass! Here's a video from my Thanksgiving Day hunt where we harvested two axis deer and field dressed them both with my Snody Bail Out....it worked perfectly for the job. :D

Welcome to BF.....glad you made your first post in this thread. I agree, I think all of us fanatical knife lovers are a little crazy. :D
 
IMHO whether you Love or hate him. Mike Snody is laughing all the way to the bank! The man is pure marketing Genius if you ask me. Those of you that have witnessed one of his "Virtual Shows" where he Sells off 50+ customs in less than an hour understand this.

Yeah, I'm new around here, and I will probably get flamed for doing so, but I still feel compelled to add my .02 cents.

I'd be willing to bet that every time Mike see's a New thread like this pop up he probably sits back and fires up a fine cubano and has a good laugh at the people who just seem to take life :jerkit:(not thier own) all too serious.

I say good for you Mike.

PS, I have done Bussiness with mike several times. A great guy to work with and his knives speak for themselves through Functionality and Quality. I only wish I could say this about all of the custom knifemakers I have done bussiness with over the years.

Also, from what I can see, Mike walks the walk. Some people talk, others do...

I like his designs - and, a little searching will reveal some good examples from Benchmade still 'in stock' if you search. Mine were from a local store's 'old' stock - with 'old' prices! The trio below was bought new this past fall, despite being 'gone' from BM's lineup:

Bottom up above is my BM 420 Resistor, 425 Gravitator, & 426 Snody Tactical (also called 'Gravitator'). Not shown is my fb Snody-design - a BM 201 Activator+, which is still available. He is an inspired knife-creator - shtick or merely flamboyant, no matter to me.

Mike is far from being a joke , sit and talk with him about knives , you would be hard pressed to find a maker more passionate about his work and his family.

Until you have met him , you have no idea who Mike is. Regardless of what you think of his persona , Mike's knives stand on their own , his work , designs and grinds are dead on. His knives also work , and work well , and don't feel like a brick in the hand. Mike has done his homework.

2009 is almost gone , can't wait to see what you got in 2010 Mike. :thumbup:

but i will add that Mike Snody is a freakin genius!

he is a VERY talented Knifemaker, with a great skills in marketing!
he produces a top quality product and advertizes it with flare!
look he has your ass thinking he's crazy for doing so!!!!
i have great respect for a man who can do what he does, and as far as im concerned he's tops in my book!:thumbup:

also if you notice , he aint postin no cheesy low res vids , like everything , he goes all out , all the way , even the vid clips are first rate.

Soo... Let me get this straight, His Marketing skills and his online persona makes Mike a Poser?

Where I come from, a poser would be more like the guy who hides behind the keyboard talking smack about those he does not know.

This thread is Riddled with posers... Mike is not one of them.

BTW, as quickly as Snody sells off his Customs during his Vrtual Shows, I do not think he will be missing your paycheck.

I disagree with you. Mike Snody is one of my favorite knifemakers. An interesting, creative person who makes interesting, creative knives.

But I do think, that if you want to criticize him you should make a youtube video as a response to one of his videos.

I remember awhile ago there was someone who created a youtube account to do that, I think it was called Snodyh8n. It was so funny seeing it and Mike's reaction to it. Mike tends to get worked up about "the haters", it's part of what makes him such an entertaining character.

Please don't take this the wrong way...but that's fine by me 'cause it's hard enough to get my hands on his incredible knives as it is!! :D Love him or hate him, call him what you will, but the man knows his craft, and he's damn good at it. He ain't hurtin' for customers to buy his knives. It's already been said, but worth repeating... His knives stand on their own. :thumbup:

I bought the 2 knives I have (a fixed blade & a folder) years ago without knowing anything about Mike Snody, and they really are fantastic knives. He's an artist, pure & simple, and that's good enough for me. :) And...they won't be the last of his that I'd be proud to own. :thumbup:

i have a BM activator Snody...I'd love to get an actual Snody some time, someone send me one for Christmas! :D
