It followed me home (Part 2)

...can't even access my photos other than in thumbnail form.

quinton, I went to one of your posts (shown below) and right-clicked on the first (missing) photo, and then I can choose either "Open Image in New Tab" or "Copy Image Address" and I can then go to that image page on photobucket where it shows your axe photo in normal size.

Here's the Image Address I copied, which takes me to the normal size photo (it gets rerouted along the way):

So it appears that links to photos on Photobucket will still work in this forum, allowing one to view them at the Photobucket site, but we can't post the image itself to the forum.

I had this nice little 2 1/4 lb. head that needed a handle.

A really nice 28" hickory stave.

Finally got the two together!

Soaking the wedge with BLO thinned with turpentine while I eat lunch.

I know why they named them Flint Edge's!

Ready to go!

Thanks, Steve, but it doesn't work for me. All I get is "please update your account".

I have the Plus 20 account which is not offered anymore and I suspect when it runs out I would be forced to upgrade to retain my pictures as well.

the picture there shows for me at http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff95/barney097/IMG_20170520_083433_zpsygebxtuq.jpg

Quinton -

seems to link to your account but it is set as private - according to the page that shows up.

If you can get into your account, you might be able to change the settings to public or you can download each section of your library but I would recommend being cabled to your internet.

This whole "over a barrel deal" is really crappy. I am beginning to think the down time and weird coding issues over the last few months was them reworking the site for this change - if that is true then I have been getting crappy service while they tested their new coding with the intent of "extorting" folks out of money - that is terrific customer service right there.

If that wasn't the case then they don't even have the resources to host their current clients or users.

I have something like 15gigs of hosted stuff - my butt hurts even thinking about it.

Try out postimage.org it's a very simple and basic sight for hosting images.
If you do and are more knowledgeable about tech and computers than I am ( postimage is simple, I'm just not good with computers ) could you let me know if you can actually post full sized images, because I may just not know how.

I ain't cried in 45 years, I just want MY pictures back they are holding for ransom.

Yeah, that's the same link I posted. That photo of your boy's axe should be visible there. I took a screen shot of that photo, then posted it to another hosting site:

quinton, I am able to do what Steve Tall and Agent_H did as well. A while back I posted some information in a post about posting pictures to the forum. IIRC, your response indicated that it made no sense to you. I am guessing that you and I are using different equipment and software. If you post what you are using, there may be someone using similar that can help you. PB has only blocked your images from being displayed on 3rd party sites (eg BFC). Your original images should still be accessible on PB as at least three of us have found out. I went into PB yesterday to see if there were any pictures there that I might want to put on my hard drive. Everything worked for me and I could see and download the images.

Bob

As an aside, here is a picture I retrieved from PB yesterday. It is a very rare picture of a very rare axe. I would certainly cry if I lost it.

;)

Bob:
All I have at the moment is an Android phone. I have access to my library on the PB app, but I can't even click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture without them blocking it. When I go to the full site, my library won't even load.

Once the image or images have downloaded on postimage you have to switch to the hotlink for forums option on the left. That will automatically change it and you can copy and paste as usual after that. The default is thumbnail.

PB is taking a lot of flack on Facebook (imagine that?). Here is what they say:

A half hour ago I was able to login, go to mybucket, display and download an image. So what PB is saying is so far true for me. I stopped putting pictures on PB almost two years ago. There are plenty of comments on the internet regarding PB's policy change. So far I haven't seen a complaint about access to photos. Wish I could offer more help.

Hey, thanks:thumbsup: I didn't know what a hotlink was and was just using the thumbnail.

Direct from PB, if it holds up:
