It followed me home (Part 2)

Looks to be yer ordinary-type Hickory, to me. Isn't ash, oak, maple, beech or birch, that's for sure. There are versions of 'blonde' walnut that could be mistaken but no one seeks that stuff out except for gun stocks, and it would be much softer.

Another TT Stilletto marked rafting axe head.

It hasn't followed me home. How many Rafting axes and Swampers can I use...

I'm home, gone from Thursday afternoon till Sunday afternoon. This is all that followed me home. I count 59 axes/hatchets/heads of which 22 are Maine made plus everything else. I lost track but it all cost in the ballpark of $600.

Since the tongue of those 19" handles is pretty long, do you thing a standard lugged riggers axe could possibly hang at 20" ? If so I'm definitely interested as I don't think I could make it happen with a house handles 19" handle ( I want 20" but I could live with just under that )

Seriously, some of the axes that you post are really understated. Real use, handles that are made comfortable, great condition, Maine straight sense - That would make me load a Fit twice.

The pictures you are taking are really good.

I think you had fun in NH - I am too, vicariously.
