It followed me home (Part 2)

p64Kda6.jpg

Here's some of it, I don't have access to the rest of it ATM.

Elefant in the room is the strunk chainsaw, I don't know if it's a morwood or a morwood speed kut. It's actually pretty nice under all the dirt.

Edit, ITS NEITHER. It defies research. It's marked strunk 1 mk and is gear driven, not direct like the listed saws

Then there's the Irwin I previously posted, then 3 square shank twist drills for my breast drill. Anybody who thinks these are awful is using the wrong bits.

Then there's the ferriers rasp and a 4 in hand,

Lastly, there's a Mann knot klipper and, a Maine wedge rixford r-50

Oh and a germantown sawfiler's hammer along with some pliers for a bud

Now that saw reminds me of Ash from the Evil Dead.

Great Germantown hammer buddy!!

Hey Steve tall, I know we ask a lot from you but can you look into this please? It's a strunk morwood model number MK (not the actual model name) with a gear driven that has a clutch (or broken gear) and it is grey, not red like the others.

My first ever true timber framing chisel. It is a something Barr. It is a 3/4” framing chisel. I know that Barr is a current maker of quality edged tools. Especially their timber framing tools but I believe this one is pretty old. Then there is the RR adze. It has a replacement handle that fits the bottom of the eye but not nearly wide enough for the top. So I think I can fashion a wooden wedge that will be removable so that the handle can be flipped but won’t affect the bit angle. I’m not sure if I will have to make two or if one will work. It is a Hack Devil... anyone know who made it? I have one other hack devil adze but this one has about and inch and a half longer bit. For $8 I almost tackled the person in front of me to get them haha.

I had not seen that saw earlier. It looks incredibly similar to mine, if not identical. I'll have to check the gearbox and see if there's a clutch in there, if not I think I'm in serious trouble, an unknown saw with broken parts is not easy to repair

This is what's in the box
ps3EqAS.jpg

First off...you had me with the 3 on the tailgate.
Then the box before you opened it...i was all in.

Then you opened the box!

Is that a Stanley no. 22 plane?
Great looking folding knife too.
Files!!!

Great score with the box...and its contents!!

You got some nice gouges in that lot. And that little rebate/rabbit plane is sweet! Is it a Stanley or a millers falls? Kelly double?

The double's a collins cruiser.
The maul just says usa, and the hammer is a craftsman.

I've not clearned up the planes, but noticed the larger is a stanley. I didn't see a mark on the other as of yet.

The rest, is just a hodgepodge of carving stuff, some pretty good, some less than!

Pretty good overall though ;)

Brian, the adze handle is backward and you shouldn't kerf the handle, some people preferred there to be a gap so they could adjust the hang more open or closed. I BEAT STEVE TALL!! The adze is made by the Warren Tool Co.

A17 good job man not many can say they have Steve to the punch. And I agree I would not curve the handles I would just put a wooden wedge in the gas because there’s so much room at the top of the head moves back-and-forth. I will have to play with it a little while and see what I come up with. I may just have to get a new handle all together.

I have been looking for one of these devices this exact size for about two years but never found one at the price I wanted to pay. I end up finding it two streets over in my neighborhood at a garage sale. I paid $15 for the saw and the vice and $10 for the ax. The gentleman had a garage full of rusty tools that he said he would go through this week and Friday they would be up for sale so hopefully I can get some deals. I am super excited about these items!! My first two man saw!! Can anyone tell anything from these shape?

It's an eastern type perforated lance bucking saw. Not sure brand can be determined, may be after cleaning. Etch may well be gone, as it's been used a lot.
Pretty worn but definitely not past using!

Great price!

looks like a fancy one, most saws dont have curves like that, nor do they have ovular spaces underneath the bridges

Neat old chainsaw, weighs about as much as a stihl 880. LOL
it is a B**** to take apart, i would like to find every engineer that had a hand in designing it and drop it on their toe

Awesome vise!
Wicked saw!
I am blown away you got the vise for $15...but the vise and saw? Good deal sir.
The saw will make a great user...I hate guessing but my first instinct was a Simmonds or Atkins but when Mulemann77 mentioned eastern style bucking, my mind went to Disston.
6' yes?
You are going to need a handle or two :)

Great score man!
