It followed me home (Part 2)

uh oh, jimmy diresta has found himself a black raven. he didnt even know what it was when he bought it. prepare for the worst
All he did was give it a quick vinegar soak and scrub the rust off then adress the handle.
He's done some axe things I absolutely don't approve of, but thankfully he did ok this time.

It was a helluva score at only $5 too.

i know he hasnt done anything yet except soak it, i know he's talented but i do not trust what he might do in the future

What I found great about this find and story is that in 2018 we are still able to score highly desired axes at tag sales at tag sale prices!

My guess is what's done is done and he is editing now the footage of the work.

I am curious to see  He does some cool / different stuff / projects beyond the axes too.

Did the black raven look like a cruiser?

Thursday ;)

$30 aus? thats' um... about 22 us, damn i wouldnt have been able to contain myself. a tas is just as good of a find as a black raven to me

i can say the round lettering puts it after the 20's, i think. was the handle original?
Not sure we can date a Plumb by the lettering style. Do we know that the round style didn't show up until the twenty's? I have an axe that has both styles of stamps on different sides.

I am very excited about so many items rescued here...I dont know where to begin:)

Great scores, and if I'm not mistaken Walters axes aren't exactly super common here in the states.
