It followed me home (Part 2)

I am just glad they made it to the right person!! No worries bud!! I hope you get a lot of use out of them! And I am sure that whatever you send will be very exciting if it’s anything like that handle! Thanks again.

Another trip to the city revealed more treasures for me! That is actually a translucent oil stone that needs a lot of attention. But it is almost 2” thick!! Thickest I have found. Then there is the spokeshave. It is stamped (body and iron), Bailey’s Patent July 1858. It is a Leonard Bailey adjustable spokeshave. That is before Stanley was ever in the picture! Very cool! Then there was the hardware store plane, eggbeater drill, the Stanley brace and the Stanley square you can see in the vice. The stone and the spokeshave were my two best finds. All of it was $28. $18 on the spokeshave.

Edit: let me clarify “before Stanley was in the picture” meaning before they took over Bailey’s patents. They were around.

That will be a fine stone once you've cleaned it!

Awesome haul. That stone looks great compared to the last one I found. 2" thick you won't wear it out in your lifetime. There may be a better way to dress them but I have been using a diamond plate. Anyone have another method?

Amazing Steve and thank you.
Ludlow is about half an hour north of me and I have been known to include Ludlow in my tool hunting radius. :D
