That treadle grinder brings back memories. As a kid we had one upstairs in the hog barn. I mostly used it to sharpen ol'rusty nails. It was fun to see how fast you go get it going!

so much axe envy here. Can't we all just get along? :D

moosecreektrails is a upstanding dude and a fellow trailworker.

Dang! I thought you were an alright guy. Now I really don't know. Jealous as hell.
I am just going to tell myself that you gave too much for that Tuatahi.
If you decide you don't like it I would drive up there and give you a fair price for it.
I think the "B" stands for bad.
Right after my pic of my treadle grinder that was backed over by a truck. Brutal!
Didnt intend to insult you sorry. Cant sell it as it was gave to me along with a 6ft m tooth Tuatahi saw.

If this will help the saw is at my cabin that has a forest fire that has evacuated the town (Mcuire complex fire)will post pics if it dosnt burn up.

Ahh crap Moose... Sorry to here that!

We had a fire that was 3-4 miles from us (the elevation mountain fire) that grew to almost 1000 acres. There is really no one up here so no one was ever in any real danger, but it was still on the back of our minds...
What if the wind shifts? Well, it didn't.
I really wish that they would have let it burn. That area is my elk hinting grounds and it needs it! I think it's still burning some, but they broke 'fire camp' last Thursday and are now down outside of Hamilton on the sawtooth fire.
My friends cabin is down there and they evacuated the area. I hope their cabin is OK. They live in Seattle so they are not there. One of there sons is a smokejumper and he lives in Missoula.

We sure do need some rain, but you and I know that they ain't going out until the snow flys!

Actually, you didn't at all. I was just pokeing fun. Mostly at myself. Need to remember to post those ;).
Heck of a good score though. Hope you follow up and share with us when you get that axe hung.

I was thinking the same thing.
Forgot to attach quote. I was replying to the morels.

This one here I picked up last summer it was a bit rough too. Its just like the one that got run over by a truck except the seat is cast. I think the cast seats are a little older. If you guys have not used these you would be suprised at how well they work.

Love it! I want to buy or build one. I found a nice 20" wheel at an antique store today. For $20 I couldn't pass it up. I'll post pics tomorrow once I get unpacked.

I found your guy. Barr Specialty Tools, McCall, ID.

AWESOME! Never knew about this gem. I'll be anxiously waiting to see how you like the new tools!!!
