Brass wire wheel in a 4.5" angle grinder at home. Pedestal grinder with wire wheel and a friends shop.

The pitting remains, but he rust jumps right off, leaving a good protective patina.

I may have over paid but what can I say, I wanted a boys axe. The guy also has a real nice DB that matches this one but that one is out of my budget. (not my pic BTW it should be here friday)

It finally got here from Canada, my first double bit! It's a Warren, made in Canada. The edges are in pretty good condition, no serious chips. It weighs 4.1lbs.
I can't wait to fix this thing up and use it.

My other axes include a nice Norlund Voyager hatchet, an unmarked but good boys axe, and some mauls. Also the other double bit in the mail.

These two followed me home. Picked up the axe for $5 at a flea market, couldn't resist. The matic literally followed me home. I contacted an old friend several weeks ago that I was looking to restore an old tool, and it just appeared on my doorstep when I returned home one day.

Another nice day at the flea market. The Connecticut is a Kelly Flint Edge, the other a Hudson Forge with original handle and in very good condition.

That has to be the cleanest freshest NOS axe I've ever seen. It couldn't be any more minty fresh. And you can bet that the British Columbia Forest Service equipped their guys with top quality stuff.

Just magnificent.
