I'm gomna have to check it out on my computer, not that good on my phone.
I'm working on an ultralight system for stove carry. I'm making ankle holsters for micro rockets and I'm converting a DD cup bra to hold two MSR canisters. I'll try to get some pictures posted when it's done.
She's frying up some apples in the bacon grease too. Damn that's good.Let her know to set an extra place, I'm on my way!
I'm currently ingesting that umber elixir.
I'm down! You know me and food are irresponsible friends!Hey Cbear. I was thinking last night, if your going to Blade, we should get together one night for a beer or dinner or something. You and my wife will have a great time making fun of Murph and you can do it all in sign so he don't know what the hell your talking about!![]()
I've had this thought of wanting to try something however hadn't had the time to try it, but what I want to try is make the bacon in a cast iron skillet, take that out, throw in some cored and thin sliced apples, throw in a little brown sugar and top the whole thing with a thin layer of biscuit dough (canned would even be fine) cover and let it cook. She's frying up some apples in the bacon grease too. Got headbutted by the dog and he broke my glasses. Not a great way to start the day...
My kids went swimming with a couple of Gold Medal winning Olympians this morning....Nice young people - Matt McLean and Kim Vandenberg....kids are still on a high from wearing some real Olympic Gold....

I don't hate them, but I would rather go to a local place with some character. I probably got this from my 22-year old daughter who worked at "Sweet Eugene's House of Java" in College Station, Texas, when she was in college at A&M.
Now that she graduated, she is a coffee professional. Not exactly using her Communications degree, but she is the roaster and an assistant trader for a coffee importer here in Texas. They have warehouses on the east, west and Gulf coasts, but samples go to the headquarters. She catalogs them, roasts, grinds, and brews a half dozen or more samples each day, then her and a couple of QC people sample them and she tracks the results and looks for quality trends. They generally taste the coffee, then spit it out, which seems terrible to me. She also mostly drinks tea at home now....
My daughter, the coffee professional, is also a bit of a hipster and borderline vegetarian. She generally prefers fish or fowl over red meat. She had the salmon at Christmas and none of the prime rib. However, at Thanksgiving, I made a backstrap from the wild pig that I shot and she had some of that along with the turkey. I pointed out that it was all natural, with no growth hormones or immunizations, so she tried it and did enjoy it. Me being a fabulous cook also helps....![]()
Go niners!!!
That's awesome, how'd that come about?
There's a program sponsored by Mutual of Omaha called "Breakout!" swim clinics; organizations and teams pay a certain amount of money (more $$=higher caliber swimmers) and get two Olympians at their pool for a 4 hour program with up to 60 kids. Our swim team board (on which I sit) decided we would pay for the program which was also a fundraiser for the pool -our city (which still owns the pool) doesn't want to subsidize it anymore, so the group trying to keep it open is a public/private partnership and is always looking for ways to raise money. Anyway, these two young swimmers were just great with the kids; all we could have wished for since we (the board) paid the minimum $$ and had to take whoever we got, pretty much. I'm sure they won't forget it. I've got some video of my 9 year old racing in the same lane as Matt Mclean, who makes her look like an extra-miniature human....he has the physical presence you would expect from an Olympic swimmer: 6-6 and 220 lbs, and she's about 4-2....Very cool Mike!!
