Jack Wolf Knives - Back on Track

Lastly, thanks for picking up the vibe! The artist I hired is indeed a comic book artist who has done work for Marvel and other outlets. And the plan is to update the artwork for each production run; keeping the art appreciation experience at an all time high. While at the same time, paying homage to how traditional knives were historically packaged.

My late grandfather was a graphics designer - the old school, brush-to-canvas kind. I have an old sketchbook of his that contains drawings and paintings of various advertising graphics that run the gamut from marketing Scotch to selling cologne.

As such, I have a deep appreciation for artwork in marketing and how it deepens one's brand. You see it a lot in craft beer, you can find it everywhere in the EDC community at large, and you see a fair bit of it with knife manufacturers - including GEC. It's fun, it keeps things fresh from one production run to the next, and it reflects your commitment to jazzing up your brand - I can appreciate all of that.

Very cool story Dylan, thank you for sharing. I bet that sketchbook is a real pleasure to look through. I would love to see it sometime.

Just saw a video at a retailers website on your upcoming release. These look really nice knives, a good combination between modern and traditional and they look well made. Good luck with your new venture, hope it works out well for you.

I wish you well in your ongoing endeavor...... I do question the .009" BTE blade thickness from a practical standpoint....... In my experience, .016 - .020 is a really nice slicer while still maintaining the distinction of it being a knife versus being a razor..... I personally would opt out of a cutting tool with a .009 thickness...... I don't think it will provide requisite durability......

Also regarding your description of the hafting process:
You say the knife is assembled and the backspring, liners and handles are sanded flush....... On a Fox Recoil Gunstock, for example, the knife is assembled and due to the radiused components it is left as is..... Other than the sanding, what else is done on a Wolf knife that separates it from a Fox, Lion Steel or Viper?

Lastly, I see many gushing over the freebees in the box...... Everything has a cost including that cracker jack toy we enjoyed as kids...... I'd prefer that all the advertising be left out of the box ( price reduction) and just Include a coupon to buy a Jack Wolf hat for $10.00 ppd if so desired......

Aside from the aforementioned: thicker blade and spring stock, Hollow ground blade and swedges by hand vs flat machine ground blade, hand applied belt satin finish vs as-ground finish, kick on spring construction vs stop pin, overall manufacturing tolerances and tight part fitment evident throughout, fluted bolsters vs no flutes.

Thank you for your feedback.

How are there so many videos out already, isn't it not available til tomorrow?
Correct they are not available until tomorrow. But I sent out a dozen or so units to YouTube reviewers for testing and review a few weeks ago, and there are some dealer created videos out there too. Over 20 videos now at my last count.

I couldn't disagree more. As far as I'm concerned, unless a knife is intended for hard use, the thinner it is behind the edge the better.

That's what makes the hobby interesting..... Something to suit everyone's personal needs and preferences......
