January 2023 BOTM Buck 119 in 3V black phenolic

last thought on this...would have been neat if Buck had made this one a full width tang and slapped some scales on it, 124 style.
I was thinking that myself.
A steel as tough as 3v just begs for a full tang.
If it were a 124 I probably would have grabbed one.
That blade shape is cool. I love how a 119 feels in your hand.
I like the simplicity of it.

However,
I'm trying to focus my collection and just buying everything that catches my eye doesn't make sense.

Cool knife tho!😎

i lied not last thought above in my last post.😉

maybe we'll see that down the road?.....although I hope they don't permanently change the 119 blade shape to this new one. I also like the old blade shape.....
That would definitely suck.

The classic 119 has one of the most attractive upswept clip blades found on a factory made knife, and to just change it to this across the board would be a shame.
I like the way this looks , but just as I feel about the blade on the slim select (except for disliking the model ) I don't consider this a 119 special.
It's their company and they can do what they want, but if this is a 119 so is the 105 and the vantage might as well be a 110.

agree on the classic 119.

I dont care about the number names with different blade shapes. it's got a 119 handle and a different blade I don't care if they call it a 119. could have a tanto blade on the 119 handle..they can call it a tanto 119. i wouldn't care. the Buck handle matters too on the 100 series.

even if they did a full width tang, 124 style on this knife and called it a 119..I'm fine with that too.

we don't need another bunch of model numbers to memorize. bunch of us are gettin old and not lot of room left to memorize more model numbers.

I agree with everyone above saying the blade is very nice. I don't really have the need for a 119 as a user, though, and I don't like the handle enough for a collector.

Think I'll pass, but love that blade. Also, as a side note, did anyone get an email or text for this one?
I didn't get the email either. and always have.

An upswept blade would be the Kalinga, the 119 is just a clip blade. I doubt it will up and change across the board, but I think its a nice offering.
I care for clip points and prefer a drop point, but think I really like this blade, looks more like the 650 knight hawk.
